Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
He showed up 4hrs late and we had to pack own furniture in truck

To start, there was only one driver to move all our furniture. We were on a tight schedule moving from FL to VA, so if we wanted our furniture moved on the day we needed we had to help move it ourselves into the truck.

When he opened up the truck we noticed that there were THREE other families belongings in the truck, we asked him if there was going to be room for our things he said no problem. Come 3AM (having a 2 year old so you can imagine how difficult this was) in the morning the truck was completely full and we still had several things in the road, he then said Oh, sorry I won't fit. Its 3am in the morning you've already put money down that you can't get back, 80% of your furniture is on the truck and you are on a strict deadline. What to do you, you can't take if off, you have to be in VA the next day.

Once we were done and on the road they never returned our calls, when they did contact us it was the day of delivery and to inform us that the cost had gone UP $700.00. They said that we requested a smaller truck (which we did not) and that cost us over $300.00 then they told us we were over our weight which I made sure at the beginning I added several things to the list, (which we didn't end up taking because there wasn't room on the truck).WE HAD TO RENT A UHAUL ON TOP OF PAYING ALL THIS MONEY TO GET ALL OF OUR FURNITURE TO VA.

They give you a estimated weight that sounds great. I would like to know how we went over when they quoted me a price with items that we did not take like 1. There were several hundred pounds that was not being taken like a refrigerator which stayed at the home, weight set that we sold, and so on. 2. On top of that having to rent our own truck to move what they couldn't fit in their truck.

If you think that's bad once your furniture is on the road patriot movers will not talk to you, return any of your calls. When you do try to talk to someone they are rude and hang up on you, after being on the phone arguing for 6 HOURS with the other companies that they transferred our furniture(which they move you through several), we had to pay the amount or not get our furniture then they charge you an hourly rate from that point till you pay, and when we did get the furniture, 90% of our furniture was damaged or completely broken. So now I am trying to get what little money I can back through the insurance they do give you.

******Be careful they change their companies names this way they still stay in business.******

WHAT EVER YOU DO, DO NOT USE PATRIOT MOVERS.

AFTER DOING MORE RESEARCH AFTER RECIEVING MY FURNITURE,

THERE ARE WEBSITES EXPLAINING THAT THIS IS WHAT THEY DO.

PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF DO NOT USE!!!

Make some noise !!!!

I am in the Middle of my move so I don't even know how badly I got screwed. ( I have a new mover that it storing my items - good guys ) I urge you to write to any and all gov't officials in the state you "were" in, also your new location, etc. ( FBI, attorney general, prosecuting attorney, governor's office, etc ) Also write to TV stations in both regions. Also Progressive / AY Transport is located in San Jose Ca, and Florida, so you need to write all of the above in that region in addition to your local ones ( where you were and are now ). Go to each states web site and write and copy your story to anyone that will listen. It is the "shotgun theory" of getting attention. I was a broadcaster for many years and I know that this works. If enough people join in. Write everybody and hope someone responds, listens and eventually acts. A targeted approach will not work. Bottom line Make noise !!! :-) Write your story as complete as possible and copy it to anyone you can. ( O'reilly, MSNBC, CNN....state agencies, officials, etc... Especially in San Jose Ca and Florida ) I know this may not get attention right away.... But it may get attention after many of us speak loudly... In your emails you need to reference any websites you see that talk about these guys. Officials and agencies that may have never knew about this now know you are not alone in this. I am also working on finding an attorney that specializes in "Transportation" law. I have a few attorneys looking into my case to see what they can do. Keep your records.... Keep your checks, visa card statements, etc. Any way that you paid these idiots. Here is a copy of a letter I sent Progressive... I mean every word of it.... You need to be as angry and don't give up, don't give in and don't agree or sign any item they send you. I have a few contacts at national media outlets that are talking to me.... Hopefully I can convince them to put the light on them and the agencies that regulate this company and business. File a report at http://www.oig.dot.gov/ayvictims/ Reference this web site in your letters to anyone that will listen. They will stand up and take more notice to you and your case. -------------------------------------------------- A Letter to Progressive / AY Transport To whom it may concern. I called the San Jose office of the attorney general ( Carter Stuart ), local FBI office, Channel 5, 8 and 11 in the region. National Contacts ( Fox News, MSNBC, O'Reilly ). I have spoke to the FBI, FTC, BBB. & and a few more ABC gov't org's. Plus my 2 attorneys. ( 1 in San Jose ). I demand action regarding my account# 1xxxxx. Items are missing and broken. I am in process of raining a "media and legal" s**t storm down on Progressive and all it "other" shell companies over my move. Wire fraud ? via my Visa card, checks, and wire transfers of money, etc. My contract was bounced around between National, Progressive, AY Transport etc. Can you say CA, WV, MD, TX, and IN attorney general, prosecuting attorney, and legal filings in each and every state ? I will file paperwork in every state until you correct my move issues. Lack of proper attention to this issue will only spur me on to follow due process in this matter. If I did the above in a few hours, think about what I can do in a few days, weeks, etc.

Victims website for Patriot and Progressive Van Lines

The phone number you listed is for Progressive Van Lines, the same company you were talking about. Just so you know, Progressive Van Lines is an alias for AY Transport, Midwest Relocation, and Premier Moving, four companies that were raided by the DOT, along with the IRS, US Treasury, and the FBI, a couple weeks ago. They alos hit National Moving Netowrk, currently known as Patriot Moving, which gives about 80% of its business to the four companies mentioend above. In fact, Progressive Van Lines was co-founded by the founder of Patriot Moving. Does this eplain it all? The DOT is currently doing a serious investigation into all of the companies lited above. You should go to this website and fill out your complaint (have your driver's license and any paperwork handy, and it'll take about a half hour). They need as many victims as possible to get the REAL picture of what thee companies do! And I know firsthand what they can do, I also got scammed by NMN and AY. http://www.oig.dot.gov/ayvictims/ Good luck!

Answer to question the truck was not marked

All I know is that we went through Patriot movers, The driver told us that Patriot movers hires any one who wants the job. This guy lived out of California and couldn't wait to go home. He said that Patriot hires who ever wants the job and who ever is the cheapest. They don't go through any company they just hire private contractors. The only reason they go through someone on drop off (like Progressive Van Lines) is because they (progrssive) are responsible for the insurance, their the ones that get screwed on top of the customers. I know for a fact that the man that put the furniture in the truck is the one who ruined our furniture!! And I know for a fact that Stuart at Patriot added on the false charges. We didn't work with anyone else till our furniture was on the road. And No, the truck was not marked, it was just a large white semi and a yellow cab with no writing. They don't give numbers. The only number I have I don't know if it will help is 877-493-4200 ex. 7 I talked to a Annetta and she works with the drivers that dropped of the furniture I don't know if she knows who the driver was who picked up the furniture. Patriot also said or shouold I say Stuart said that if I went over my weight that I would be charged .42 a pound, instead they charged me .55. They get you if you don't pay then you don't get your furniture and they charge you something crazy an hour till you get tired of fighting and decide to pay. So no matter what you get screwed.

who was the actual mover?

Charlotte, Patriot is a moving broker, not the actual moving company. Do you know the name of the company that showed up? Was the truck marked? Do you have a phone number or such?
