My husband and I were looking on Craig's list for a sofa and came across Chip Copeland's add for the Hi Def Home Store. It's an on-line business only. There is no way to sample the product i.e. sit in the sofa...We took a chance and ordered the top of the line Home Theater motorized two seat recliner sofa. It was the most expensive one he sold at $2,000.00. We paid him cash and also gave him extra money for gas. My husband had to put the sofa together which was something he was supposed to do but did not. After sitting in the sofa, we realized it was very small in size and extremely uncomfortable. We called Chip and told him we were not happy with this sofa and wanted to exchange it. We didn't ask for any money back. We just wanted something comfortable to sit in. After numerous calls, he finally delivered what was supposed to be a THREE PIECE SET called the Executive Home Theater sofa which was cheaper than the motorized one. But instead of getting THREE pieces, we only got TWO pieces. It looks absolutely ridiculous. We called him almost every day for 6 months and he told us he was going to deliver the 3rd piece to us. Well, after millions of excuses, he finally told us if we wanted the 3rd piece it was going to cost us $349.00 and we could pick it up at the warehouse ourselves. We looked on-line at the Coaster Furniture Store and found the exact same 3 piece set for $599.00. When I called him about it, he laughed and basically said we were not going to get the 3rd piece unless we paid the additional money. The Coaster company in Los Angeles told us the sofa we purchased ONLY comes in a three piece set and they did not understand how we only got 2 pieces. Chip Copeland is a liar and a thief. If he is stealing from consumers, he is stealing from the Coaster Co. He insists checks be made out in HIS name and prefers cash. I think he has some kind of deal going on with someone in the warehouse in Atlanta. The Coaster Co. should re-evaluate their employees especially if they are being stolen from by Chip Copeland. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM CHIP COPELAND AND IF YOU DO NEED A SOFA-BE SURE YOU CAN GO SOMEWHERE AND SIT IN IT FIRST.
