Payless Auto Rentals ripoff, doubled rental rates, crappy cars Would NEVER rent again from these jokers. San Bruno California
My wife and I booked a car for the Christmas holiday seasion. This was done a few months prior and done online.
When we arrived at SFO, we took the train to the rental and then their shuttle van came to take us to the off-site rental location. Once there, they guy pulled up our reservation and asked if we'd gotten the phone call.
When we asked what phone call, he swiveled the computer screen around to "prove" that they had called us a month before and informed us that the rates had DOUBLED from what we were quoted ($23/day to $46/day). This was for a car that it took us approximately 20 minutes to fill out the inspection report prior to taking the car so we wouldn't get charged for it later (would have been easier to report what HADN'T been damaged).
In the lobby at the time, there were at least two other people that were getting scammed in one form or another (required to buy extra insurance, Huge fees for one-day only rental above and beyond the published rate, etc...)
We also rented a car-seat for our baby (at $5/day), which looked like crap and couldn't be buckled in backwards (as our baby should have been).
Would NEVER rent again from these jokers.

I understand look what happened tp me>>>>> just got a call from my lawyer He found that this has occurred several times from this same enterprise company (Phone Harassment charges) over the return of a car under warranty with Joe Myers Ford. 1. I have had transmission repair at Joe Myers under warranty several times during the yr I purchased my 2003 Mustang 2.This time after 1 week in a enterprise rental car paid for >by Joe Myers I was told >nothing wrong with your transmission It makes a grinding noise going into reverse My son was told that reverse gear is not synchronized. Joe Myers GM and Ford rep said nothing wrong at 5:30PM Joe Myers said will not pay for 1 more day on rental even though agreed to meet next day with FORD REP. 3. I leave to go eat and go to hotel where I work. 4. Call from enterprise > girl says return the car I say don't bleep in call again "I'll be there tomorrow" MY CAR IS NOT DONE!! 5.call from officer 6. 2 hours later return to dealer (Joe Myers Ford) 7. I am arrested in just 5 min for phone Harassment 8. Pick up my car next day from Joe Myers They refuse to finish the job. 9. My lawyer just called says this isn't the first time they have done the exact same thing!!! 3> more cases just like this!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just waiting to go to court have not pleaded in my case yet. 10. Today I spoke with VP of Enterprise Houston Texas said he believed this was >misunderstanding And that the girl did not clearly understand what you said!! WOW/pretty scary
