I am upset with how Paypal decides where the money comes FROM (From which account IE: Paypal account,Checking account, which credit card and so on.) I made a few purchases online and was shocked to find out 1 month how bad my checking account was overdrawn with an excessive amount of overdraft fees ($300) I thought I had read it all understanding Paypal.

The 2nd month I was shocked to find out my credit card had been max'ed out. I don't feel that anyone or any Website has the right to decide which account your money should be removed from to pay for objects purchased online. I had clicked the credit card button to pay for some items and had chose my paypal account for others, only to find out that THEY decided how to "triage" them if you will. They pay for an item purchased first by removing money from your paypal account (if you sell something online and someone pays you via paypal) 2nd they deduct from your paypal debit card, 3rd your checking account gets hit for transfer, and finally your credit card feels it for the FINAL method of payment. I believed that paypal website was strictly a SECURED site, so hackers cannot see your personal information. (including credit card numbers) I honestly did not expect anything more than that.

Paypal recommends you have a confirmed address so that anyone you make a purchase from will not be worried about means of payment or mailing address. The only way to get a confirmed address is to add your checking account number and address so that you can PROVE your address. (Or a credit card bill being mailed to your mailing address.) they prefer checking account, so I did and now not only did I have crazy charges of overdraft fees totaling $300 but many other ordeals that would take too long to explain on here.

I have removed my checking acct., and my credit cards numbers and the only reason I'm keeping the account open is because I want to be able to see if there have been any new charges, which there was one charge which I DID NOT authorize removing money from my checking account. I have placed it in dispute status with no response as of yet....Who knows if I will get the $60.00 back or not.....

The whole purpose of this blog is to WARN you if you are new to Paypal. Best of Luck to you....Let me know if you have any resolutions I might try to get my money back.

Though they do their best to get you to pay the money from your checking account. There is a link that lets you change your payment method. I use it frequently so that I can build up a little cash back by using my check card.
