Pegasus Satellite Television illegal collection of taxs dishonest ripoffs Marlborough Massachusetts
company has charged illegal city and county sales tax and at the wrong rate, i live outside city limits and noticed the tax charges last year on my bill. filed a complaint with tx att gen, fcc, the att gen for tx notified me he could do nothing, the fcc replied they had no jurisdication in this matter.
I contacted state comptroller of public accounts, that office sent me a letter stating that pegasus was not authorized to collect city and county taxs outside their taxing jurisdication, only state sales tax on programing and equipment if it was rented, which i do not rent. I filed another complaint this year requesting that my back taxs be returned or credited to my account, state comptroller sent me an email stating he sent an email to pegasus to refund my back taxs and to charge the right amount at the correct state tax % for county taxs which according to the letter was not to be charged( it was in violation of 1996 telecommunications act).
when i contacted pegasus customer rep they told me they could do nothing,it was out of their control, have never received anything from pegasus but still continue to charge city and county taxs. Does anyone else have this problem,if so,what is pegasus doing with all the free money they collect,it is not being turned in to the state or city, i asked the city comptroller if they received any tax funds from pegasus, they did not. big time ripoff
