Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I purchased a WF6 whole house system in December of 2017.  Over the last 15 plus months this system has not been able to provide anything other than iron colored water.  This $5,000 filtration systems was supposed to filter the iron out using a chlorine solution and special filter.  It also included a pre-filter, solution injection pump, whole house carbon filter and whole house salt free water softener.  I replace a salt based water softener and have regretted that decision every day.  The operating support model for Pelican Water Systems is to have all issues be the fault of the customer due to a list of standard rebuttals.

I would not recommend buying anything from this company.  In over a dozen documented calls I have been always made to feel as if the problem is me and never the product.  I have requested a few times to have any service support vendor of their choose come out and vet the installation and service the equipment.  So far nothing has happened and I do not expect them to ever support the products they sell.

The Fix for any Pelican well water filter

#2Consumer Suggestion

Wed, December 29, 2021

I was the one that wrote the original complaint against Pelican's Well water filter.  Fast forward to December 2021 when I reused the original 10" tank with new media from another company.  The problem came back after a week.  After a deep dive into the head unit I found that the discharge housing had a restrictor washer that only allowed the regeneration cycle to have less than 2 gallons per minute.

That is fine for city water systems but for well water systems the regeneration cycle needs as much pressure as you can give it for it to clean the media.  Took out the restrictor washer, put in a regular hose washer and the unit now works as advertised.  If I had known this four year ago, I would have saved a lot of money and time.

Why Do You Think They Call Themselves "Pelican"?

#3Consumer Comment

A company with an excellent reputation which has been around for years and years is "Culligan". The reason these people call themselves "Pelican" isn't by accident. Notice the very, very similar sound of the names! What they are doing is as obvious as the rising of the sun...hoping you'll fall for the con-game!
