People's Prescription Plan IS MORE A MARKETING TOOL THAN SAVINGS PLAN ripoff nationwide Internet
Both of my in-laws are diabetic and have multiple medical problems. Both are on Medicare and have so-called "Medigap", which no longer pays for their prescriptions. Being that my mother-in-law has to take tamoxifen (which is incredibly expensive), they were desperate, so they signed up for the People's Prescription Plan. Have they saved anything other than pennies from it? No. But they are now apparently on the pharmaceutical companies mailing lists and get lots of mailings about new medications, etc.
I finally was able to get them on a discount program through the pharmaceutical companies themselves. Some of the big names are giving seniors and others big discounts if they qualify for their program. They are calling it a "give back". With their obscene profits, I call it a "tax break."

No Problem With People's Prescription Plan

I have had people's prescription plan for over a year. Both my son and I get fairly expensive prescriptions regularly. I have not received one solicitation from anyone. Nor have I had junk mail regarding drugs or prescriptions. The discount I receive on the drugs helps considerably when you add it up at the end of the year. I do not have any other insurance plan. Nor am I on Medicare. I'm not sure why Sherri from california's in-laws received the solicitations, but i don't believe it was because people's sold their name. If that was the case, I would also had begun to receive the junk mail by now. I do agree that senior's and others may qualify for discounts thru the drug companies directly, I looked into them for both myself and my parents but neither of us qualify. And for many that is a great option.
