People's Rebate Assoication ripoff Champlain New York
On 02/08/05 I recieved a phone call from Michael Mitchell with People's Rebate Association stating that I applied for a credit card on the internet and I would be approved for a credit card between $2,000 & 7,000 if I allowed them to take out 299.95 out of my checking account. He then proceeded to tell me that once I recieved the card I then could take the 299.95 off of the card and put it back into my checking account.
I agreed, he then stated that I would need to go through a verification process that would be recorded. I also agreed to that, I then spoke with a Johnathan that gave me a verification number, They only recored me saying that they have permission to take the money out of the account, not of them saying it was a credit card. I recieved the package form them which I paid 299.95 for a bunch of coupons for services.
In the letter they stated that plain words that this wasn't was exactly what was explained to me during my purchase, but if i retured the package within 10 buisness days I would recieve a full refund minus the shipping charge.
I sent it back with a confirmation so I knew when they recieved the package back. I called them today 03/14/05 and told them that i did have confirmation of them recieving my package and that i what my money back, I spoke with a Travis in which he told me that he would put in for a refund and it could take up to five days, so I need to call back on Monday.
I doubt I will ever recieve my money back.
