Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
On April 16 th I took my car over to Pep Boys in Blasdell,NY.

My air conditioning does not work and and Pep boys charges a flat rate of $39.00 to check the system over for leaks and such.

I took My car in at 8:00 in the morning. The person that waited on me told me it takes an hour to do and that they would start on it right away.I called to get a ride and went home.

Pep Boys finally called me at 11:00 am to inform me that they couldn't do the test because the lines were rotted through. That they needed to be changed and that the price would include the price of recharging the system. ($518.00 + tax).

Now I told them to go ahead and do the service. Two in a half hours later they called to inform me that some other part needed to be replaced. A vapor something. Not sure. But that this would cost an additional $520.00 + tax. I thought I was going to crawl through the phone.

I then asked why this was so much and he said that it's not the part that cost that it's the labor. The part was $137.00.

The rest was labor. OK so now he decides he is going to give me a deal. He took half off the price of the part.

So I tell him to go ahead and fix it. I figured I am already into it for $518. And the A/C is not going to work so I have to get the rest done. My car was to be ready by 8:00 last night,

they called and told me it would be ready first thing this morning. Well, I stopped there with my mothers car nd guess what It won't be ready till after 12:00.

Now my real b***h is shouldn't they, knowing that they are going to have to change over the system to the new freon, shouldn't they have one price and shouldn't a car be ready when they say it should.

I mean I got 3 phone calls what should have taken an hour took 3 hours, then called 2 hours after that, then at 7:00 at night.

That's 12 hours that they worked on my car. And at a rate of

$66.00 an hour.

My car Is now being quoted at $1167.00+ tax. This is for air conditioning. I was told one thing then told another then told another. They string you along until you have to have everything done.

The JERK in the office was very condisending, I am assuming it is because I am a woman and am supposed to be stupid about cars. Well I am not a know it all about them but I think I am not stupid either.
