I'm out of town and My wife told me the "AT" light came on. We live next door to a Pep Boys so I suggested She goes there since they are a 1 stop shop for fluids and repairs. However, when my wife went inside and asked the man inside for help checking her fluids, an employee behind the counter named Rubin, a Hispanic male with a pony tail, told her NO and that she would have to pay $90 for him or any other Pep Boys employee to check the car's fluids. This was a huge shock since Pep Boys has been a trusted name since my childhood and my wife had our 2 small children with her and clearly was in need of help. We do not know if this man was being lazy or if he was trying to rip her off being that she is female. Rubin just gave Pep Boys a horrible reputation with us and we do not plan on ever going there again. They have lost a life long customer.

Looks like my report got under your skin. It did it's job. Brought attention to this problem. Thanks for assisting in making my point.

Here's an update to the problem. After the sales guy behind the counter rejected my wifes request for a minute of his time to check a fluid level, I requested that she not go in the front door and that she pull around to the service area and ask a tech for help. They were happy to help her and even checked all the fluids and plugged in the computer to reset the code FOR FREE to see if the engine light would come back on or if the error was a glitch since no fluid levels were low. This is good business. Proving that the man behind the counter was being lazy and greedy. I have been contacted on facebook and twitter from Pep Boys with an appology and they requested that I report this employee via the information they provided me. This showed me and my wife that they recognized he was in the wrong and that is not how Pep Boys does business. 

As for the lawsuit against me? Please man. You should read up on the laws. What I stated was what happend. No more, No less. I welcome any lawsuit as I have nothing to fear. Fact is my friend and it has never let me down. Thanks for adding to my complaint. It helps show the difference between Good business and Bad business. 

At the end of that day, do not let a bad employee stop you. Just go to another employee and you will find what you are looking for. Good job Pep Boys for standing up and confirming that what happened was not Pep Boys Policy.

 So YOU seem to think that people shouldnt be PAID for the service they render? GET OVER YOURSELF PRINCESS!!! Just because they want to be paid for the job doesnt make them a ripoff. It ONLY shows YOUR self entitlment and NOT a ripoff. Just because they are required to do something different then they used to do DOES NOT make them a ripoff or scam. See what I find funny is that YOU dont accept CHANGE!!!! Life is about change. NOW they are required to charge to check your fluids. Yet YOU would rather commit an offense online by defaming them due to YOUR ignorance, then admit that YOU are the REAL problem. NOTHING is free. SOMEONE pays. YOU are just mad that they no longer do FREE services. WHERE do you think that comes from? Did you perhaps think that they just arbitrarily changed POLICY JUST to mess with your wife?? Kinda REALLY self important of YOU. A directive like that is going to come from the higher ups in CORPORATE!!! Meaning YOU are blasting innocent PEOPLE because YOU are too ignorant to use critical thinking. Hopefully the very same people YOU have willingly and with malice chosen to defame on a media outlet find your post. That way when THEY, who by the way can afford BETTER lawyers then YOU, find your post YOU are the one who gets the lawsuit for DEFAMATION!!!! What is really surprising is how CHEAP YOU ARE!!!! YOU would expect to get paid for a job YOU do. WHY is it so horrible that THEY want to get paid?? Must be the double standard of the truly ignorant. They only lost someone who is too cheap to PAY for a service, NOT a lifelong customer. How you can sit there and defame them over YOUR ignorance is beyond me. Im sure if you took even a moment of your oh so precious time you would have figured this all out on your own, then again maybe not. People like YOU who refuse to change or grow or learn bring us ALL down as a society. Its no longer survival of the fittest, its survival of the idiotic. Thankfully YOU are the only one who will REALLY suffer if they chose to call YOU to task for what YOU have WILLINGLY posted. Defamation suits start at roughly 25k. If YOU are so cheap you wont pay for a service, how bad do you think a 25k+ judgment against YOU is going to make you feel?? And ALL because YOU refuse to grow. Well that and the inability to keep your trap shut on a publishable forum. Instead of doing the RIGHT thing and call or go in and question this change in policy, YOU go on a ripoff site to WHINE about being charged. You shame yourself.
