PepBoys don't let these losers install a set of shocks. Hixson Tennessee
I was a little pressed for time. I'd just bought a '97 Chevy 1-ton to tow my race car cross-country. The shocks looed, and felt, like the stock ones with 112,000 miles on them. Went to Pep Boys to buy some shocks with the intention of installing them myself, but they had a 'special' going that made installation free.
So I let them install them; bad decision on my part. Halfway through my trip, I started hearing bang from underneath the truck when I crossed speed bumps in the hotel parking lot. I looked underneath the truck and sure enough, the jacka$$ at Pep Boys didn't tighten the nut for the bottom of the RR shock. Since it came loose, it had banged around enough to ruin the shock and because I was out in the middle of nowhere, I had to buy another one and install it myself.
Lesson learned: Don't let Pep Boys perform any work on you vehicle; no matter how medial the task is.
