I went to pet world on saturday nov 5 2005 and bought a hairless rat. He was to be my little girls first pet. He was fine for two days on tuesday nov 8 2005 he started limping on his right side.

I called the pet store to let them know what was wrong with him. They told me there was nothing they could do because it was passed 24 hours. I wasn't told there was a 24 hour return policy on him. It's not in writing or on my receipt.

On friday nov 11 I took the poor thing to them to show them what was going on. The mrg told me there was nothing I could do for him and I should take him to the vet. He was a 10 dollar pet and a vet would have told me there was nothing they could do. He was shaking and it was sad.

I told the mrg I should get a refund or compensation something. She said there's nothing we can do we don't guarantee our live stock. I didn't even get a sorry nothing just take him to the vet. I was upset yes anyone wound be after spending 41.00 on a cage bedding and food and have the pet die less than a week later.

I told the mrg that I would not be shopping there again and I will go out of my way to tell others not to shop there. Then she had the gall to tell me I needed to take better care of my pets. I told her I fed him he had water and I held him what more could I have done.

I left the rat there and told them why I was doing that because I wasnt going to let my 20 month child and myself watch him die and I walked out and will never step foot in there again.

Yes...we always recommend that animal owners take their pets to a vet for treatment. That goes without saying. The fact that you didn't for the sake of only paying $10 for an animal speaks of your character. Second...There was nothing wrong with the pet when you bought it. If so...you wouldn't have purchased it. I mean..you did pick it out..play with it...and then payed for it...right? Third...we can not be held responsible for a pets well being after it leaves our store. Did you drop it? Did your child pull its leg? Did your cat eat it? Did you leave it in your car while you went to the store? I can not tell you how many times people have lied about the care their pet received after taking it home. Lie...just to save 10 bucks... Guess we should have just given you another one. So you could hurt it or worse...and then give you another...till you got it right? Maybe you shouldn't keep live animals...And where do you draw the line before you take a Loved Pet to the vet? $25..$50..$100.. Shame on you! We stand behind our pets and offer a guarantee on every pet sold. You did not fulfill your end of the guarantee. Shame on you for not taking care of your pet...
