6/23/2019 Petco Corp. I am writing the Petco Corporate in reference to your location at Towne Blvd in Franklin Ohio & the disreputable practice that this store & your corporate office has taken in reference to not refunding the deposit given this store by my elderly parents on a fixed income to simply train a beloved but unruly Black Lab from jumping on people & to simply be led on a leash.

My parents were not able to attend these training sessions, so their pet went untrained. This location clearly stated that they would refund my parents their deposit when they presented their receipt. They did return to the store with their receipt only to be spun to your corporate office for resolution. Your office agreed the money should be refunded in full but Corporate referred my parents back to the store to no avail?

I personally went to this location in behalf of my elderly parents yesterday & notified the Store Manager of my complaint & demanded that the store honor their refund by Friday June 28, 2019. I recorded my conversations with the Mgr. & the cashier with their knowledge so that no account of my statements or theirs could be misconstrued.

This pet in question has been given away to new owners since my elderly parents could not safely maintain or properly care for and provide the great home their beloved pet deserved that your trainers could not train? My son, a Marine, has worked with a company that trains dogs on bomb detection for Law Enforcement & has went to School specifically for expert knowledge in Dog Training, unfortunately he lives out of state so hence the need of your stores services.

I’d like to make mention of various Television shows that prove abandoned dogs can be trained without an owner & then given homes with total strangers that simply receive an already trained dog. I myself have personally owned an advertising bus in the past & fully understand power of media when exploited for a particular purpose.

This story can be a great human interest & animal welfare production: After June 28, I will retain Legal representation at great personal cost in behalf of my parents to acquire their full refund in cash & only cash along with whatever costs said Legal representation incurs. In addition, I will establish a new business designed to specifically target your organization as my first account to assure that your bottom line nationwide suffers greatly.

Like the stench of smoke my outreach with local & national media campaigns will linger for years to come! I am sick of the disreputable practices of so many organizations including yours that I will pick up the Cross to assist my parents & others like them as an everyday enterprise to combat disreputable practices by mismanaged, fraudulent corporations including yours.

I hope that we can immediately resolve this matter & refund my parents their deposit in full & in their possession by Fri, June 28, 2019. Store in question: Petco 3464 Towne Blvd Franklin, OH 45005 (513) 422-7641

NOTHING you posted here shows that they were unreasonable.

Perhaps you can fill us in, why didn't your parents use the training. Were there any alternatives presented by either your parents/you or Petco other than your request of a refund?

Because right now, as stated before, the only one who seems unreasonable is you. YOU are the one who instead of trying to get the dog trained by someone else gave him away(even if it wasn't YOU directly...you could have suggested other alternatives).  YOU are the one who is claiming that you are going to start a business specifically meant to hurt their bottom line.  YOU are the one who wrote them insisting on "cash only".

By the way what did your legal council say, especially about you starting a business to specifically target their bottom line or demanding cash only?

Just wanted everyone to know how unreasonable Petco is no matter how a person handles the complaint. Only arrogant AH cannot read between the lines!

Another "I am going to take down this company no matter what it costs me." post.

Once you get rid of all of your fluff and attempts at sympathy, this isn't about training that didn't work. This is about your parents signed up for and paid a deposit for training classes they did not use. Nothing you posted has shown that Petco did anything incorrect.

Your report bounces between the laughable and the absurd.

Based on your attempt at sympathy, your narrative is that because you didn't get their dog trained at Petco they had to give the dog away. Are you really saying that they were the only business capable of training your parents dog? There appear to be dozens of trainers in your immediate area, and many even make "house calls". But apparently those trainers must be sub-par in your mind. Because your only other choice was your "Marine" son, who you describe as someone who is just short of being the next dog whisperer. But he lives out of state so your parents had to give the dog away....Really?

If you really wanted to keep the dog, you could have put in a fraction of the time and effort you are claiming you will do now to get the dog trained.

It gets even funnier when you actually demanded that you get refunded by Cash only.

Since you are seeking "legal council", we can only figure you plan on taking them to court. If the attorney tells you that you have anything more than a Small Claims case, I would seriously look for another attorney. As in court if you prevail you would get nothing more than the deposit(and it won't be in cash). You may be entitled to reasonable legal fees, but that may be limited to a couple hundred at most.

But in court the judge is going to want to know what the WRITTEN agreement stated about the refunding of the deposit. They will then want to know specifically how Petco violated the agreement, or if you had anything in writing stating that you will get the deposit back. If you can't show that..you won't prevail. If you just figure you will take them to court to cost them money.

Realize that they have attorneys on staff who get paid regardless, and worse if they can prove you filed the suit maliciously...you may be on the hook for additional expenses.  Oh and in court since you appear to have sent the demand for cash only to them, they will submit that to the courts as evidence to show how unreasonable you were.

Hope you keep us informed.

Good Luck
