Bought remanufactured transmission in April 2004. From installation was not operating properly, not going into glutch lock up. They sent us two parts to be replaced, a torque converter, which was replaced and a value body which was replaced and did not function so original value body put back in. Transmission then did work.

Now it is November 2004 and yesterday truck refused to shift into 2nd. Fluid was full on checking. Truck is disabled will have to be towed to garage. Due to warranty issues this transmission will have to be uninstalled sent back and when new one arrives reinstalled all at my expense.

This is a ripoff. I am currently sitting in my trailer without a vehicle.

Local "furnish and install" deal much better

Buying a heavy auto part from far away is asking for trouble. If it is defective, the shipping is going to cost a lot. Also the supplier knows they're thousands of miles away and your truck is broken, so they can do whatever they want over the phone. The solution is to have your local mechanic also procure the part. This is called "furnish and install." The installer is your contact for the warranty. If the part proves defective, he will have to remove it, ship it back, and replace it all at his expense. So he's going to use a reputable supplier. He'll also mark up the price of the part to cover the possibilty of having to replace it again for free later. This is well worth it though. If as you have done you try to save a few dollars and buy the part yourself, when a problem arises there will be a stand-off. The installer will say "It's a defective part." Then the supplier will say "It was improperly installed." This can go on forever, and neither one has any incentive to resolve it. Also you'd have to pay for removal and shipping. You're left in the lurch with no truck. If you did a furnish and install deal, then it is up to the installer to make your truck work again. He can't pass the buck.

.. When product turns out later to be defective then you have the burden to provide service promised per warrantee.

Let's see now: Franks says he will unlease his legal team. Well Frank bring it on. I also have issues with your company. It is only possible to unlease your legal team if people lie, or are doing this to attempt to harm you without cause. Frank; never never forget that we have the freedom of speech. Our postings here are protected speach. You Frank have the burdon to provide a merchantable product. When product turns out later to be defective then you have the burden to provide service promised per warrantee. Insulting this Lady for her lifes situation is not appropriate. The only appropriate response is to provide service per warrantee. Your response to her could have explained your warrante. Trust me your customers are not trying to go out and have troubles after the sale. This lady had troubles and was eeking help. I can tell you my experience with your staff getting help has been misable. Hank in there lady there is a move a foot to bring help. I have received responses from others and maybe we can get together to achieve justice for us all.

APPARENTLY FRANK HAS RIPPED YOU OFF AS WELL.I CANNOT UNDERSTAND HOW YOU PURCHASE A TRANSMISSION FOR A DOLLAR AMOUNT.THEN YOU HAVE TO SPEND MORE MONEY ONCE YOU GET THE TRANSMISSION TO TRY AND DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM AGAIN.ITS SAD.AND FRANK GETS AWAY WITH IT.ALL HE SAYS IS "WE WILL FIX IT".AND LEMME TELL YA THEIR IDEA OF FIXING SOMETHING IS MORE LIKE MAKING SOMETHING NEVER WORK PROPERLY AGAIN.IF ANYONE IS INTERESTED IN A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST THIS CLOWN CONTACT ME AT [email protected] HAVE A GREAT DEAL OF EVIDENCE AGAINST THIS COMPANY AND WOULD LOVE TO HAVE YOUR EXPERIENCE INCLUDED.OR IF YOU LIKE TO WASTE YOUR MONEY AND JUST HAND IT OVER FOR A SPRAY PAINTED TRANSMISSION THAT HAS HAD NOTHING DONE TO IT,BUY FROM THIS COMPANY.HAVE A NICE DAY

To set the record straight!

In our records we show that a Dennis Dysput in Reading, PA , purchased a transmission from us last April. After a month of service the customer called and noted that the trans would not shift into lockup. Per our warranty and our mission to serve our customers with the best customer service possible, we IMMEDIATELY sent a replacement valve body NEXT DAY AIR at no charge. It was installed and we were told the problem was still there. Mysteriously the customer had the other valve body put back in and guess what? IT WORKED. The reason is there was not a problem with the valve body to start with, but rather the install job that was done on the vehicle. You called us 3 weeks ago (some 7 months after it was installed) and we told you that if you were having a problem that you would need to send it back to us (trans). You replied you cannot do that. Our policy is that (per the warranty) if the unit fails, you will need to send it back for repair. If your TV broke would the electronics store just send you a new one because you said it broke? I do not think that they wouuld. They would want to inspect the damage and make sure that the problem was in workmanship and parts, not due to abuse .etc. A company that rips people off, is a company that sells you a non working unit and tells you tough we are not fixing it nor will we help you. We offered to warranty your trans, but that is not good enough for you. You have a 12 month 12000 mile warranty, I suggest that you send the unit back before the warranty period expires. Once expired we will not provide warranty service. I suggest that you stop writing these rediculous posts on this site, and calling our company a rip off! If you continue falsely accuse us of being a RIP OFF we will bring our legal team in to make sure that you stop! The bottom line is that you bought a trans, and it may have stopped working. While this is not a great situation, it can be fixed. Writing false inflamatory reports will not get you what you want. As for your refund, a refund will not be given as the trans has been in the truck for 7 months and you have been using it. However if you send it back (at your expense, per your standard warranty) we will fix it AT NO CHARGE. As long as the trans was not abused and failed because of a problem with a part or workmanship. It is unfortunate that their are some people in the world like Dennis Dysput that feel because they are having a tough life or a tough time that everybody should give them what they want, regardless of what they purchased. I guess when you sell over 5K transmissions per year that you are bound to find customers who have nothing better to do than complain to anyone that will listen.

You could have gotten it done for alot less locally. At overinflated labor rates and parts markup at a tranny shop or even a normal garage, you wouldn't have paid more than $1800 and gotten an actual warranty. The labor for that truck to remove, overhaul, and install including all the bells and whistles is still only 11.5 hours. At 100% markup on the parts, the job would run right at the $1500-$1800 range. Since $2000 is the price you claim nobody there could do it for, I'll use that as your price limit. Look, it could have been done. I get my price sheets from all of the big companies and some smaller shops. They all have the same profit margin and amazingly, the same prices on these sheets. Since you and your husband are disabled as you say, how is the work being performed. That's costing you isn't it? You don't suppose someone may be installing it wrong do you. Are you/they using the correct fluid(new, not the old fluid trying to save a buck). It should be Chrysler ATF+3(ATF+4 if you want to follow Chryslers recommendations for improved shift quality), NOT Dexron-III which is dirt cheap. The wrong fluid will kill a tranny faster than just about anything. Since the units' shifting, or lack thereof, seems to be the issue, you may want to check that. I'm kind os surprised Tranzmn hasn't chimed in yet. He usually has very good tips and insights.

Telling you the info isn't going to help me a refund is

Just for the record the info is 96 Dodge 1 ton dually with a 47RE transmission. For the past rebuttal you knowing what kind of transmission is not going to help me unless you have a good transmission for free. I am sitting here broke and just want a refund. How did the other people get a refund? As of this writing I don't have the money to even send it back. Both of us are disabled and live pay check to pay check. The transmission was not right from day one and all I want is my refund.

As usual, you have provided no REAL information. For some reason, the people who write in to complain about something NEVER give details, like make-model-year. Try giving up that info and I'll help you. For the record, NO transmission is going to cost $2000 unless you own a "big" truck that uses an Allison or a similar unit.

How come others get offers of refunds and all we get are hangups.

#10REBUTTAL Individual responds

Notice others are getting refunds. I wish I was that lucky. Truck still sitting at garage. Trying to get money together to take it out and send back to company. How did you get refund or at least a call back from the company. They hung up on us. As to person stating why did I purchase one because they were all I could afford. You tell me where you can buy this kind of transmission on the east coast for $2,000. We can't find one this was only choice and still got ripped off. Mechanic said third gear is gone and burned up. Transmission is junk.

Huh? you bought a transmission from Phoenix Arizona, and you live in Reading Pennsylvania?

#11Consumer Suggestion

Am I missing something here? Did you just write that you bought a transmission from Phoenix Arizona, and you live in Reading Pennsylvania? Why would anyone buy and have transported over 2000 miles what they can get locally for less, and have the added benefit of being able to get warranty work taken care of quickly? You cannot be serious. You aren't from Ohio are you?
