Pine Motors Westcliff-On-Sea Review

Beware the Banger, Buyer Beware!!! I would not recommend buying from Pine Motors Westcliff on Sea. Bought a car from Pine Motors and on the 2nd day, not even 48 hours after purchase and the VERY FIRST time driving after buying, the engine started cutting out in the middle of rush hour in London, in the middle of the roundabouts and on the motorways, leaving my wife and I in a very dangerous and life threatening situation. The journey took over 3 hours to go 9 miles, as 7 times the engine kept cutting out and having to wait for the car to cool down each time. I phoned Pine Motors, whilst the engine had cut out and broken down in the middle of traffic. I told them that the car was breaking down and that it was not reliable. I told the owner of Pine Motors that I was returning the car for a full refund according to Consumers Rights Act, because it was not sold reliable. Pine Motor’s owner agreed to the full refund, disappointed but he thought it was fully understandable. I was able to bring the car back the next day which was the 3rd day of owning it, expecting the full refund, but the owner of Pine Motors, changed his mind, denying the agreement of the refund. Saying, “that’s not what I meant. It’s your car, you bought it.” So, Pine Motors flat out lied about a full refund, arguing that the car broke after I bought it. Really the first time I drive it and it breaks down. Forcing me to have to make a legal matter out of the situation, despite the Consumers Rights Act, “Fit for purpose to get from A to B safely”. The M.O.T. was not done very well, because if they would have run the car more than a minute or two, in fact with hindsight, with engine idling for just 15 minutes would overheat it. Also, when first viewing the car, I started the car to let it run, but the owner turned the engine off shortly after I had started it and not letting it idle, stating it was almost out of petrol. Same thing happen when I returned the next day to do a test drive. I was told just to drive around the small block because there was not much petrol in the tank to do a proper test drive, even though the owner said he would ready the car to test drive. Plus all four tyres did not match and not in great shape. Pine Motors keeps saying that it has a “Guarantee” and “Warranty”. I think it means, you are guaranteed to need a warranty. I think their cars are of banger quality. Whilst I was at Pine Motors dealing with this matter, a lady phoned complaining that the brand new turbo that was installed when she bought the car 5 weeks ago has already broken down. After the phone call ended, the owner just laughed it off at me, going, “well, she was really upset!” and “you just don’t know when the car is going to break down.” Just shows they are not very professional and not caring about the people and the cars they sell. So, does that describe the quality of parts they use, quality of their mechanics, and the quality of the cars they sell. Beware the Banger, Buyer Beware. Don’t just trust their mechanic. Get an independent mechanic to fully check the car before you buy a car. I think another good clue was, “we only take CASH for THIS CAR.” ...even though they except credit cards. BEWARE THE BANGER, BUYER BEWARE!!! I do not recommend buying a car from Pine Motors Westcliff on Sea. Car quality does not seem to be very good, and they do not stand by their word.
