On May 1, 2014, I went to Planet Beach in Waxahachie, Texas since I use to have a membership with them. When I provided my name I was told I owed a balanced from 5 years ago. Wow, I was shocked because no one had called me nor was a letter sent to me. It seems they tried to charge me not once, not twice but three times after I had cancelled. However, when I cancelled my contract I was told I did not owe anything. The owner told me that he hears this all the time - well, I'm not everybody! Then from the words I got from the owner was basically, if I didn't want to pay what was owed then he really didn't need my business, but yet he had a special going, I could pay half of what I owed. Well I am sorry; I don't do business with an unethical company! That same day, I went to my granddaughter's soccer game to find out that others had the same issue. My question is how can a company continue to charge consumers for three months when they cancel their contract for services they will no longer be using? I think the Attorney General or someone needs to get involved, investigate this further and if need to, file suit against any and all Planet Beach who are doing unethical practices.
