Planet Fitness Belle Isle Conway Road BEWARE! Gym's own TRAINER won't clean equipment!!!! Orlando Florida
This is a nice gym most of the time. The price is right, although the price ($10 to $20 per month) makes it crowded and it's sometimes hard to get on the equipment. But the worst part of this gym is that the TRAINER does not wipe down equipment after using it or showing others how to use it. I spoke to the front desk about this, and was ignored. I talked to the manager about it and was ignored. I even went to the owner of the company and was ignored again. When I confronted the trainer herself about it (politely), I was kicked out of the gym.
As a licensed herbalist, I see many, many infections from unclean gyms. I myself became ill four times in a six-month period of time from the uncleaned equipment. There are signs posted everywhere in the gym to clean the equipment after use. But the TRAINER does not do bother to do it. Worse, she is teaching new people not to clean the equipment either.
Please, people, if you go to this gym, or any other gym, take your own disinfectant and wipe down everything your skin will touch before you get on the equipment. The spray bottles of disinfectant they have at the gym are little more than water, and this will not prevent fungal or bacterial infections. A few drops of tea tree oil added to water in your own spray bottle will help prevent problems.
