Was called by Planet Hyundai to either finalize my lease return or to purchase the vehicle. The person that we had made the appointment with, had gone to California, why did they then bring us in if no one was to be there? The sales manager said dont worry, that he would handle it for us. It all sound official, and was the way to purchase the lease at end, from Hyundai, we assumed.
He, the sales manager, then explained the there was a $699.00 safety inspection fee, plus another $399.00 for the documents. I couldnt believe what I heard. He said he had to safety inspect for insurance reasons. It included a break check and other things. Told him no, that was too much for just that, besides it wasnt necessary. The sales manager insisted it was, as was the document fee.
He was a poor excuse for a sales man, let alone a manager. He next tried the" dealership deserves a profit routine", what a weak Willey. Dont know he got his position, or is able to keep his job. Major looser.
Of course, we walked out. Called Hyundai finance and asked if we had to use this guy. They said no, just send them a check for the buy-out and they will send the paper work for the dmv, all at no extra charge. I asked why did the dealer call then, and pretend that this was the deal? They didnt know the answer, but it is obvious.
Never, never purchase your lease vehicle from any dealer, let alone lying, bad salesmenship, Planet Hyundai. It is just a vehicle, no pun intended, for the dealer to skin you for alot of extra monies when the lease is over. Shame on Planet Hyundai for trying to steal money from two old retired people.
