Shad Phillips, the President of a small web design firm named "PMG Web Design" of Frisco Texas, failed to properly price out a project I needed completed which ultimately resulted in a strained working relationship, then using underhanded billing tactics he attempted to nickel-and-dime me so to make-up for so-called loss profits.

Customers could also acquire hosting through PMG; on several occasions as PMG's client, there were unexplained site failures whereby I had to wait extended time (from several hours to 24 hours) before the site was functional again, such downtime probably drove away many potential consumers.

I argued with Mr. Phillips on MANY occasions concerning functionality problems plaguing the website whereas he would often rebuttal with "normal bug" replies; such bugs lasted for most of the website's duration, as well as other ongoing functionality issues that repeatedly took several hours or days before resolve. I was not impressed with Mr. Phillips professional demeanor when he felt pressed to correct functionality issues that were redundant.

I complained to the Better Business Bureau on PMG on at least 2 occasions whereas one of the complaints was actually resolved via mediation.

Mr. Phillips also failed to have mailed a critical back-up CD of the website I owned after agreeing to on numerous occasions. This was after paying the firm between $600 - $700 USD for such program files.

I wish I had consulted with PMG's clients before signing their contract. The whole ordeal (business relationship) was an utter nightmare. Good luck if you're a new client.

PMG Web Design Lied about mailing back-up CD AND failure to properly price out site project Frisco, Texas

I'm afraid Mr. Phillips is not being forthcoming concerning the back-up cd. When I  requested a back-up cd "2" were ordered, NOT 1. This is the reason why Mr. Phillips concurred to send me another cd following my many email requests as he knew he owed me a second cd. Now how can that be a "fulfilled" agreement? To me it's blatant THEFT.

With regards to specifications, they didn't change unless PMG Web Design was unable to fulfill certain design requirements that Mr. Phillips originally stated PMG could manufacture. And when I needed something in addition to what was originally desired I had no problem in paying the additional charges.

Mr. Phillips nickled-and-dimed me because he felt he had severly under estimated labor cost for the project, and on several occassions stated to me that the project was over budget - OR what a website of my design requirements would normally cost.

Also, Mr. Phillips on many occasions denied me access to technicians that were working on the project, preferring to address technical issues on his own. And being that he was the only medium between me and his technician(s) turn-around times for work was often suppressed and/or disappointing.

I'd be surprised if all of Mr. Phillips clients of the 150 + accounts he boasts are 100 percent satisfied. I'm sure there has been ill heated moments.

It's my personal belief that Mr. Phillips took me for granted in thinking that he'd make a quick buck through "MY inability" to realize QUALITY work performed by PMG, at least on my project. And that I would be more impressed with aesthetics opposed to the overall project package. I became a thorn in Mr. Phillips' side when he realized I wasn't completly ignorant of technological developments, and could carry out some effective quality assurance on my own.

At least he admitted to some portion of the crappy hosting service, and on several occasions I believed the servers that hosted my website HAD BEEN HACKED.

Mr. Phillps should be more forthcoming concerning this matter, and take no one for granted no matter who they appear to be.

Good luck if you're a new client.

PMG has been in business for 10 years and has never received a single Better Business Bureau complaint other than from this one client.  We have built hundeds of websites and currently service an existing customer base of 150+ accounts. We pride ourselves on good service and quality websites.  In every business you are going to encounter a customer that you cannot make happy.  Unfortunately this is one of those situations.

I will take responsibility regarding the hosting issues that occured with this client. We did have dedicated server a couple of years back that gave us some trouble. Unfortunately this client was on that server. He was later transitioned to a new, more stable server and did not encounter any hosting problems while his site was online for business. That dedicated server in question has been discontinued.  All of our current servers are extremely stable and are monitored 24/7/365.

In reply to nickel and diming, anytime you change the specifications of a software project it requires additional work to be done. It is usual and customary in the software industry to charge for scope changes.

As for the website back-up CD, the client did receive 1 disk as well as a print out of all the code. The ex-client is frustrated because I have not sent him a 2nd backup CD.  We fulfilled our part of the agreement.
