On March 29,2003 I received a typical telemarketing phone call from a company called Premium One. It was something about help with acquiring a great rate on a credit card.

I remember very little about the offer but I do remember that I could examine what would be mailed to me and call back to say "not interested" within 30 days. So I foolishly gave them my Checking account information and soon forgot about the call. On or about May 5th my wife calls me at work and says "We've got big problems with our checking account!" It seems $239 was taken from our account.

At the time of this writing we still have not heard from Premium One through the mail and it is very difficult to get a phone response after leaving many messages on their "customer service" line.

Each of the two times they have called I have been left hanging on the phone. While the foreign-accented man is on the phone and before he stiffs me, he seems unable to even explain what it is I have "purchased" with the $239 snatched from my checking account. Finally he says "hold please" or "let me speak with my manager" and after a 15 minute wait the line was disconnected once and the other time no one ever came back to the phone!
