Contracted Prestige Pools of Wilmington to install fiberglass pool, filtration equiptment and fencing. Total pool packace. Job started Dec.2010 and sat until March2011. After innitial deposit over 50% some work was done and than stopped. claiming weather and soil conditions poor they returned with little communication as to when, and demanded to be payed additional or work would seice. Additional monies given little more work done.

inspections not passed work stopped more money demamded. paid contract in full now pool not complete, no fencing and failed electrical inspection not addressed. Poor workmanship on work done. Rust stains comming through comcrete decking, pool not plumb or level, concrete cracking. They are demanding more money to complete and requiring us to aquire alarm equiptment to bring job to code. They claim to be expert. no forsight for various issues now outstanding. Fencing disbute continues. No timer on filtration equiptment, i come to find out. Just wish they would do what they said and get out of my life. Shame on me for trusting them.

I can tell from thier communications thier hostility is equovelent to thier insecurity. Don't blame your clients for the delays, when over 50% of the contracted amount was paid in full. True bait and switch tactics were used and deciept was implemented from the start. How can you demand additional monies when the electrical inspection has not passed? Why would I agree to a gate that won't allow my boat to pass through. come on! Experts..yeah right experts at ripping you off!

Would not recommend to anyone!! What went wrong? Let me count the ways: 1. During planning (already had $42000 deposit) the owner Shane asked us not to contact him directly that we could only go through the project manger Jordan 2. Jordan lacked knowledge in several instances and grew irritated and defensive when we questioned anything so with owner Shane not willing to communicate that caused a lot of problems. 3. Mason who was to build fire pit and spa plus lay stone and tile came to work at 2 hour intervals each day and finally when he stopped showing up and we questioned delay he had to be removed from our property after shouting obscenities and making threatening comments 4. Delay after delay with deck work and tried to extort an additional $5400 the day the deck was to be placed claiming we were over square footage when they had come up with the needed square footage amount themselves and placed deck form themselves. 5. Already paid in full and transition tile and stone work delayed delayed delayed. They would not answer phone calls or texts and when they did they were clipped and rude like they were doing us a favor. 6. They would give us a work schedule and not show up without any communication. We had to place a lock on our gate to get them to communicate when they needed access 7. Spa not working after building complete. Very evasive and defensive through entire problem. Had to file complaint with the Better Business Bureau to get them to act. Complaint number is 15053441. They have not responded to two attempts by the BBB to contact them about our issues. We have had to threaten legal action as well 8. Turns out they plumbed the spa wrong and had to tear apart a chunk of our newly built spa to try and fix their mistake. 3 attempts. Thought we had it fixed and now it is still not working right. 9. we have a reoccurring rust stain on our new deck that they have yet to resolve. They claimed they fixed it with some cleaner but stain back the next day and they have not returned. 10. transition tile grout sloppy with chunks all over. they came to fix it and did part of the work and said they would return. has not happened. we finished touch up ourselves. 11. transition tile keeps falling off and we are having to figure out how to reattach it because they are nowhere to be found. 12. text after text unanswered...call after call unanswered 13. poor quality work after dishing out $82000!!! We are going on 5 months of this nightmare!!!They said 6 weeks shame on us for not getting it in writing and paying in full before all the work was complete and working as it should. We are happy to have our project complete and the ability to enjoy our pool but it really has been poor quality workmanship, atrocious customer service, lack of follow through and just zero professionalism.

Gbarr- Thank you for your gracious comments regarding your experience with our company. It was a pleasure working with you and your family on your project. Throughout our 14 yrs in business, we have performed hundreds of successful installs without complaint and have an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau. We pride ourselves on going above and beyond what is needed to exceed our customer's satisfaction and to provide a positive experience for them. This particular client was referred to us by his sister because of her good experience with our building of her pool.

We made every attempt to please this client but when they did not have the contracted money owed to keep the project going forward, there was only so much that we could do. Apparently, this client has a history of posting frivolous complaints even to the extreme of a bad review of a McDonalds restaurant because they wouldn't allow him to receive food without payment.  We were hesitant to use this company at first due to this report, however after interviewing several pool companies we decided to go with Shane at Prestige Pool.
We made a great decision, worked with them well and never looked back.
We found them to be a great company to work with. They did an outstanding job building our pool and transforming our backyard. They were very creative and came up with ideas we had not considered, making our pool and yard more amazing than we had envisioned.  The project was done on time and on budget. They kept us up to date at each part of the project.
We would highly recommend this company to our friends and family.
They bent over backwards to accomodate us. They do not deserve this type of slander.

Lack of Homeowner Funds

Work crew reported to this project site on three different occasions in three different months, but was unable to continue construction due to homeowners lack of funds.

Homeowner did not keep up with predetermined payment schedule, as specified in contract, stating they had no funds available due to kitchen/house renovations and a recent vacation.
All work performed by Prestige Pools is within compliance of all NC state, county, APSP (Association of Pool and Spa Professionals) and ANSI (American National Standards Institute) quality standards.

Prestige Pools has over 200 pool installations in New Hanover county with over 200 satisfied customer referrals.

The saga continues. The project has now become a larger headache with the daily letterwrighting with this click and paste lawer. The tactics implored now are demanding agreement to Non-Disparagement mutual release agreements. you have got to be kidding. In addition to the poor quality construction and the sophomoric lawering to strongarm into submission, this guy is stupid with brovado. Look if you would have done what we agreed upon and supervised the work that was done you would not have to worry about the bad rewiews. Your nickel and dime approach to doing business has just caught up to you. I forgot to mention in the first addition of this report , just how this guy made off with the earth excavated from the hole where the pool was placed into. It was understood it was to be used to fill in archecetural landscap detail that had a retaining wall. It was communicated at the onset of the job he was going to use our earth on another job and replace it  when needed. That's now out of the question.

At this point the fence required to complete the project and get it to pass code and conclude will cost me an additional$2500.00. this guy originally figured in the equivolent, but probably spent his profits on something else. The pool will unfortunately  always leave a sour taste in my mouth, for it was the

inhearitance recieved from my late mother that enabeled me to enter into this mess.

Buyer beware of Prestige Pools of Wilmington. They will enter into a contract with the full intent of not completing and they know just where you will feel powerless unless you pay in full. In hindsight, I trusted this guy because he had worked with another family member and overcame adversity. For me his disrespect for my understanding of construction and building practices that wich involve swimming pools, has cost him far more than the small price to complete the work on time and properly.

I have attached some photos of the rust stains coming through the fresh concrete. He claims this is within state limitations...What a joke
