i made the mistake of giving priceline.com my credit card number and they sent me airline tickets that i could not use and they would not change or cancel them.

I had to go to another airline to purchase my tickets and now I have to dispute the charge on my credit card and file complaints with the federal trade commission, i wont bother with the better business bureau, i might as well complain to my cat.

A Travel Agent's Perspective on www.Priceline.com

#2Consumer Suggestion

As a Travel Agent I would highly recommend avoiding www.Priceline.com (and www.Hotwire.com) do to the Non-Refundable/Non-changeable policy and the fact they they will not give you flight times until after you purchase the ticket(s). This is listed in the legal info on the site itself, so they will likely not be held responsible for the usual problems of bad/incorrect flight times or multiple connections. This is the primary method they use to get such 'low fares' by getting the flights no one else would buy. They also ask for the credit card information before you even know if the flights are available for the price you are looking for, so I have heard of many complaints of people naming a price of say... $300, but then getting charge $350 for the ticket as Priceline has a rule someplace allowing a higher charge if the price is within a certain percentage of the price you were searching for. Not only that, but Priceline does not have it's own fares with the airlines, you can usually get the same prices off other internet sites or travel agencies, if you get the same flights, dates, and times that Priceline would have given you. And that's the other reason Priceline will not tell you the flight information, so that you won't go to another travel agency to purchase the same flights. I also note that the original poster of this complaint did not mention why she could not use the airline tickets, and I think that would be of great help for others to determine if it is a valid reason in their own opinions.

They will be more than happy to take you complaint and will do so online. As for the BBB, it is a for-profit business. Good reports are bought and sold. Also, their actions have no "teeth" because they are not a regulatory entity. Priceline sucks!!!!!!!

I realize I am not the only one who got ripped off by Priceline.com. It is very important that everyone who has file a complaint with the Fedral Trade Commision. This company needs to be stopped.
