Progressive Auto INsurance ripoff I cancelled insurance in July. 2003. They kept sending bills. Mayfield Village Ohio
I cancelled insurance in July. 2003. They kept sending bills, so 3 times I sent the Declaration Page of my new insurance. My agent also sent information to them. I received letters from their collection agency, they were billing me almost 600.00. Finally they received the info without losing it after I mailed it again the end of February.
I received a letter today 4-17-04 stating they cancelled the policy retro to 7-27. However I still owe them 390.04. At first Adam the CSR said it was because the polivy was pro-rated. When I questioned this the decided it was due to the fact that my 16 year old obtained his temp and they sent me the exclusion page with I signed and returned upon receipt. However they claim it was late, aknowledge they may have been slow to send it out, but are still taking me to collections.
My son was insured with State Farm through my mother's policy at the time. In Ohio you can not legally be insured on two policies, so how could I owe them (Adam acknowledge you can't be double insured... but they didn't receive the form. I asked for a name and number of someone who could review this and who had the authority to resolve this problem. Adam said he was unable to give that info.
Also be aware Progressive is the only company in the area that charges when the child has a temp, the other companies do not charge till they are licenced. What's free at Allstate and State Farm is 390.00 a month with Progressive!
