Protective Life Corp RIPOFF attempt to enroll sounded awfully good. Im glad I waited Birhingham Alabama
I was called by Shawna of Selective Health Plan/Protective Life Corp. She described a medical insurance/discount program that sounded awfully good. After her description I decided that I might want to learn more about it. She then connected me to "James" in her Verifcation Department. He described it in full and before he was done I had decided to enroll both my wife and myself. Fortunately my wife said she did not want to give up what she had and I should check further into this company. I did so and turned up two rip off reports that scare the hell out of me. I then called the customer service number to cancel my enrollment and lo and behold! They were not there....(can't say I was surprised. Now they have my credit card number and a telephone verification for an order. The cost for my wife and I was only $139.95 per month with a $100.00 non refundable enrollment fee. I intend to cancel this and not proceed. If they try to enforce the enrollment fee collection I will protest and they will have to go to court to get it. I suggest that anyone else who receives this type of call should hesitate. They will tell you that it is a one day offer only but that is BS. When I did not want to enroll today they gladly deferred it until 11/01/05! Now if it was a one day thing how could they defer my enrollment? My recommendation: do not do business with these people. you might find it hard to stop.

I reacted to my wife's displeasure and two filed reports on this company. Their plan still looks pretty good from a cost standpoint. I am going to try it and see what happens.
