Providian National Bank Rip-off Late fee finance charges & other fee gouging Pleasanton, The business that doesn't give a dam Arlington, Tilton, Manchester, Dallas CA., TX., NH, NH, Texas
We are dealing with a company that is using tactics a loan shark would use. They are gouging people already with high finance and interest rates. We tried to close our accounts with them because we had run into financial difficulties and make arrangements for a hardship payment plan with them. They told us they would send us information on how to do this and they never did.
They also have been letting a charge of $39.95 get charged to the account that we do not even know what it is to. We tried calling the merchant and the merchant starts yelling at us and hangs up.. Also the people that answer the phone are foreigners and you can barely understand them.
Maybe that thing with India is true, what a way to make a living. I am trying to get the name of the Chairman of the board and that is like pulling teeth. We disputed the amount and they credited the account. Along with our dispute letter in writing, we advised them to please stop all credit cards with them. They did not, they let the cards reach their limit and started gouging us for late fees and over limit fees. When we had asked them to stop cards we had plenty of money to work with,
They raised our cash withdrawals to $10.00 per withdrawal, among other thing. This company is up to something I can just feel it.
My Lord Jesus, is coming back and He is mad and He is bringing His lawyers with him. So watch out Providian, it is about high time you met your match and then some. I will make sure that my karma runs over your dogma! Mark my words!

Receiving statements, and in-house collection calls.

We did receive a collection notice from regular collection agency for other account,...after that have been receiving regular statements. Phone calls are far and few in between. NO WORD ON DOCUMENTATION THAT IS SUPPOSEDLY LEGITIMATE. CALLED THEM AND GOT THE RUN AROUND AND PUT ON HOLD THREE TIMES. THE LAST TIME, NO ONE EVER GOT BACK ON THE LINE.

We have still to see any documents validating the charges to our credit card. Also the other card that we had with Providian that did not get any charges has been sent to a collection agency. This one with the charges has not been sent. We may have to seek professional advise on this as we are getting no where.

Since our last report of 11/25/2002. We have yet to see any documentation from Providian regarding their so called legitimate charges to our account. As a matter of fact, phone calls have ceased and so have their outrageous billing statements. Will update soon as hear something.

We have been told that the charges to our credit card are legitimate. Little do they know that this same company charged another card that is not a Providian Card. They took the proper legal channels to stop the perpertrator. We have asked Providian to send us a copy of the authorization. Lets see what happens. Update soon!
