Complaint Review: Publishers Clearing House-report # 1331337 - Nationwide

 Do you realize how many people dream of that knock on the door or that all important email from PCH, telling you that out of millions of people, your name was pulled by computer and you were going to be, a little less poor? I was that someone. But a short time later, I received an email from Emily Johnson, customer service mgr of PCH, telling me that another persons name from San Jose, Ca had been the winner, but due to "human error ", my name was mistakenly listed as winner. The first words out of my mouth was, "WHAT!". How can such a thing happen? How does a computer choose one name and another name, just one name out of, say, 20 billion, is announced as winner of one of their online contest for $10,000? I have the email, and many more from her, as my proof.

The email address came from PCH. Emily Johnson is the manager of PCH. I called to verify. When I responded, the email went to her. Believe me on My God, I wish it wasn't, because if it wasn't my entire world wouldn't feel like it's collapsing around me. When I wrote to Ms. Johnson, she apologized that this had happened. To make it up to me, she offered to enter my name into another contest . I asked in my mind- That's going to make me happy? Another drawing where I would be 1 against 20billion? She said that if I won, I'd get $10,000 and everyone else would get 50,000 tokens. I told her that only one thing would make things better, and that was the $10,000 dollars. Life hasn't been that great lately, but I am a retired minister and I know that my mobile home would be considered a palace to so many in America or third world countries. I have a movement disorder due to one too many hits to the head by my ex back in 1978-80.

I move like a puppet being manipulated by a sadistic puppeteer. My gas stove broke 1 1/2 yrs ago and I can't afford to fix it. My ceiling is coming down in two places, because Disability doesn't pay for fixing teeth, I had to have three teeth pulled ( with Denta-Cal, one needs to have thousands to do work, the only other option is to pull them, and two teeth are in front. My father, before he died in May, got me two top mattresses. I sink in really deep into the center of the bed due to no support. I have always lived with humility, but when I was told that ms. Johnson later offered me 50,000 tokens to make me feel better, I wanted to scream. I have all the emails that went between ms. Johnson. My heart is broken from the actions of such a cold individual. I even downed myself for wanting these necessities. But how can she think I'd be happy with 50,000 tokens when I don't have what so many have. The ability to cook, the ability to not have the rain pour down in my living room and bathroom, or the ability to smile because my country doesn't see the need for someone who has worked all their life, to smile, because of teeth missing.

I am just so hurt because of her callousness. I even asked her when I made this incident public, what would her bosses think of her belittling such an uplifting experience it had been, and the tremendous loss of faith I had with this employee of PCH. She acted like they wouldn't care either. I can't & I won't try to understand someone with such a cold heart and a lapse of what life was like for so many. I am a retired minister and my faith in God Stands Great. I just think that I would like an attorney to stand up for justice through a class action suit against this woman and PCH, for having her treat their clientel so badly and hiring her to be that way. The emails speak for themselves and can not be unwritten. I will make emails available to anyone who ernestly needs to have them in order to help.
