Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

If you are a homeowner in Central Florida and considering a water softner whole home system, be very aware of Pure Water Changes, Inc. in Windermere Florida.

The owner, Bobby, I'll withhold his last name to protect his privacy, though he doesn't deserve it for withholding a portion of the pay he owes me.

I have his apology in writing with respects to what he owes, but he's been lying to me claiming he mailed me a check, which never came and he went as far as to tell me he was cancelling the check anyway.  Doesn't really matter at this point since I never received the balance of what he owes me, just the first payment which I did receive.  Funny how the first check arrived, just not the second, and his text apologies mean nothing at this late date.

This guys a real trip, and if you really want to find out more about him and his business, just google the business name and you'll see that he only started the business about 4 months ago and doesn't even have a real business address, office, warehouse or anything.  Just a guy who runs a business out of his tiny townhome that he lives in, out of his tiny garage.  Just google the address listed, you easily see it's a residential property not a business!!!

I only worked for him for a few days before I realized how he runs his business and tries to sell very avaerage water treatment equipment for thousands more than it is actually worth with his slick sales tactics.  The bigger issue is that I don't even know if he is an actual licensed contractor and carries the proper insurance for his installers.  I never saw him or any of his people present a copy of any license or certificate of insurance, which I would hope any educated home owner would demand to see before they have any installer or contractor cut the main water line that feeds the entire home.

kind of a scary proposition to say the least.  I can't say for sure regarding his licensing or insurance credentials what his status is, but just thought it very suspicious since he had no true business location or ever presented it to me as a tool to show homeowners.  Please always protect yourself by only hiring licensed, bonded, and insured contractors.  You can find yourself in a world of hurt, sued,  and no recourse by ignoring this as a homeowner.

My Bobby also likes to ignore any aspects of HOA's, or customer's that live in HOA communities which is very common here in central florida.  Lets face it, this type of installation absolutely requires HOA approval prior to any outside the home installation in most communities, yet he fails to mention that to any homeowner and tries to hide the install from view if possible during the time his installers are on site for the installation.  His only goal is to slam installs on customers as fast as possible, in fact he will really push to do many installs the same day so he can sidestep the Federal 3 day right of recision that all homeowners legally have when making this type of home improvement purchase in the state of Florida.

He knows that if people take the time to get other quotes or estimates, they will find that he is thousands of dollars more expensive than many of his larger competitorsCharging 6-10k for equipment that costs him a fraction of that is utterly rediculous.  Word to the wise, do your homework and gt a couple of estimates to protect yourself and you'll see exactly what I'm talking about.  It's sad but now I am left with the choice of possibly having to file a lien on the home he didn't fully pay me on in order to get the rest of my money owed but have not to date.  Not exactly what these very nice homeowners deserve so make sure you don't become one of them yourself !!!!

A little due diligence is well worth the protection and education it will provide you as a home owner..........

I received a check finally the other day for what the owner, Bobby, owed me in commissions and honestly it left me wondering “why now”?  S

ix weeks after I was supposed to be paid, so did he just have a change of heart and decide to do the right thing?  I think it was more like this report gave him the swift kick in the a*s he needed to realize that it wasn’t a good business decision to do what he did.

Nevertheless, better late than ever and it’s a d**n shame it had to come to this, but I did give him every opportunity to do the right thing from the start, he just chose not to.  Lesson here, you definitely reap what you sew.....
