On 8-17-01 I went to get my oil changed and injectors cleaned with coupon special. The service man also wanted to change my fuel filter but I decline, then he asked me why I need my injectors cleaned I said to keep my car running good. but he kept on telling me to change my fuel filter, But I had my fuel filter changed a week earler. So they put my car on the hoist to change the oil, I saw the man pulling on the C.V.Boot, the service man called me over to the car and then told me that the C.V.Boot needed to be replace. The night before my husband look under my car to make sure that there was nothing else wrong,I know that purrfect auto rip the C.V.Boot.Mean while they were going to clean the injectors they OVERHEATED my car, it was left running 20to30 min.My car never overheated before, they said that I had a cooling problem.I got upset then left. When I got home the cooling fan was disconted.I went to Purrfect Auto Service to only get my oil changed and injectors cleaned ,when I did'nt want extra work to be done,They created new problems to be fixed. My car has not overheated since I left the shop.I talked to several people about what happened, they said that they had simular problems with purrfect auto,I even know a couple tow truck drivers who said don't ever take your vehical there, they will rip you off,and try to fix thing that are not even wrong, just to get the business

i am an ase certified technician and smog certified. this story is not credible. why was she getting the injectors cleaned? injectors are generally non serviceable. they do not require cleaning as a maintenance item, fuel filters do. purrfect is not perfect. there managers are sales people who generally dont know cars, they know sales. its up to the consumer to be informed. as far as the c.v boot being torn, unlikely they were cut by purrfect. i see many on nissan and honda that rip over time, very common. as far as the cooling fan issue, who knows. i see people try to associate an oil change cuasing a tire to go flat. some things are not related. this lady needs to get off crack.

I could imagine being ripped off by Midas, BMW dealership, Mercedes Benz dealership and many other mechanic shops that I have taken my vehicles through out the years. However, I would never dare to say that all dealerships of this brand or that brand are bad or they rip people off. Generalization of this nature is very harmful to a lot of honest and hard working mechanics and mechanic shop owners. I have taken my cars for oil change for the last 35 years and I have never jacked the car up and examine under the car for possible defect before going for an oil change. Why did her husband went and examined under the car the night before oil change service? May be her husband is a mechanic. Then why didn't he change the oil himself? I don't think her story is creditable. When I used to live in CA I used to go to Purrfect Auto Service all the time and had never had any problems with them.
