Quality Carpentry Khalen Anwar Scumbag Thief Stole Money and Property - Work Paid For Never Got Completed Staten Island, New York
"Quality Carpentry" is Khalen Anwar, also spelled Kalen Anwar. The man is a thief, pure and simple. He lives on Staten Island, but hangs out at the Lowe's on 2nd Avenue in Brooklyn looking for easy marks. Don't make the same huge, expensive mistake I did. Work on my apartment that should have taken no longer than a month, and that's tops, was stretched to four months. In addition to performing inferior work, many personal items were damaged, including glass in frames being shattered, to shoes left out when the floors were being sanded (thus getting covered in powdered dust that cannot be removed, despite numerous attempts), to a glass shade smashing to the ground of an irreplaceable lamp.
That's the short list. He hires day laborers, with no vetting. I experienced a great deal of theft. Video camera, and dv tapes of irreplaceable memories that had been captured; a picture of myself at 18 yrs old, irreplaceable, taken out of the frame!; my wheat penny collection begun when I was 9 yrs old; various and numerous kitchen items; my expensive screwdriver; my expensive scissors. And the coup de grace, just discovered 2 nights ago, my pearl earrings that I'd had for 22 years, my peridot and diamond drop earrings and aquamarine studs.
Close to $1000 worth of jewelry, if not more. I had forgotten to hide them with the rest of my jewelry. Beyond all this, he does not show up when he says he will, does precious little work himself, leaving it to the "amigo" he's hired, smokes incessantly, coughs incessantly, seems coked up, is full of every conceivable excuse imaginable, takes off for hours at a time, and steals money from you blind if you're new to having work done on your apartment/home and don't know what the prevailing rate is for certain types of work (int his case, painting and refinishing floors; putting in a new toilet and sink cabinet).
If you meet someone name Khalen/Kalen Anwar sprint in the opposite direction. This man is a scumbagging thief and you will get soaked and totally and completely screwed. Oh, did I mention the work done is below sub-par? I have more paint on personal items than on the walls. Not so much as one room was completed after all that time. He was an utter and entire disaster. Stick with certified, bonded contractors for any work you need done, not shyster scumbags like Khalen Anwar aka Kalen Anwar.
