From the get go, this company has been a nightmare to deal with.

I should have listened to my gut instinct when I first contacted Quality Used Engines via telephone. It took forever to get someone to answer the phone, and once they did, the two people I spoke to were very abrupt, harsh and overall extremely unfriendly - and I was simply following up on a email that they had sent me confirming an offer on an engine.

When I finally decided a couple of weeks later to go ahead and make the purchase, based on what the company was claiming to sell me - an engine with 64,000 miles on it with a 3 year, 36,000 mile warranty. The salesperson was also very abrupt and even insulted me during our conversation. At that point, I hung up and gave it some time.

Later in the day, a "manager" from QUE called me and attempted to use scare tactics to make the sale, stating that he had five other customers wanting to purchase the same engine, yada, yada, yada.

I waited another day or so and then I ordered the engine online. This was on May 17, 2017. The engine finally arrived on June 6, 2017.

Because the engine was shipped on a pallet and wrapped in dense layers of cling wrap and plastic, I could not visually inspect the motor prior to delivery to the mechanic.

However, just a few days later, the mechanic contacted me and stated that the engine revealed FAR more wear than an engine that has 64,000 miles on it should. In fact, the engine that he took out of my vehicle had nearly 200,000 miles on it, and it looked better than the one I received from QUE. Sure enough, once the motor was installed, there's a low end knock and smokes while idling. There is no doubt in my mind that the engine that QUE sent me is a junkyard core.

I have attempted contacting them via phone, email and certified mail. There has been ZERO response.

After speaking to the AG in Wisconsin (this company's main headquarters are in Cudahy, WI - near Milwaukee), I have since learned that there is pending action against Quality Used Engines by the Wisconsin Department of Justice (civil litigation - possibly a class action) as well as possible criminal charges pending.

Still don't believe me? Check out the Better Business Bureau's report/warning about Quality Used Engines (dBa SW Engines, Southwest Engines, Engine Shopper, Engine and Transmission World): https://www.bbb.org/kansas-city/news-events/news-releases/2015/06/bbb-issues-alert-on-quality-used-engines/

Buyer BEWARE!!!

I'm currently out over $2500.00 plus the time and trouble to deal with this mess, and a disabled vehicle that is on a mechanic's lift...with no resolution in sight.
