As a start I would like to introduce myself, Mervat Berry. I would like to take a moment to share my feelings on these false allegations and explain my side of this story... First and foremost, I was solely an employee of Qwia Management and as stated in this complaint Debra and Brian were the two owners. I had a position titled; Director of Operations or some refered to me as a "Talent Specialist". With that said, Qwia Management was a new casting company that Debra & Brian started. We were all former employees of One Source Talent and from my understanding Debra & Brian created a branch of that company. Not meaning they are One Source Talent but that they may be able to sign up their models to the One Source Models Online jobs database. None of this was relevant to my position and something I had control over, as I was not an owner myself. My job duties consisted of helping secure a venue for auditions and photo shoots, coordinating both auditions and photo shoots, interviewing prospects for our talent staff and signing on any new talent. This position does require sales skills and sales tactics. For those of you who have experience in sales, a good sales person can satisfy his/her client and must make the client feel comfortable with the purchase. In this case I was not lying to anyone or promising work or fame or for that client to become "America's Next Top Model" I was solely trying to set them up on our database and after signing on they can find jobs one of two ways, A.) We place some of our talent in music videos or auditions and photo shoots B.) They have access to our online database of model/talent openings and they can apply for the jobs they find appealing. There was value in signing up, you would not have access to our clients or job openings otherwise. On a different note, you have to have photos for your portfolio, so if a new talent prospect had professional photos already and they still looked like their photo we DID NOT require them to buy photos from us. On the contrary, if prospect talent DID NOT have professional photos we would recommend them to use our photographer. He wasn't the best but he only charged $400 for video & Photos. Again, those prices are not for me to decide but for the photographer and owners. If you shop around this IS AN AVERAGE PRICE! They are much higher fees for this type of work. QWIA MANAGMENT NEVER MANDATED THAT THE TALENT HAD TO PURCHASE PHOTOS FROM THEM, IT WAS JUST A SUGGESTION. WE ONLY REQUIRED TALENT TO HAVE PICTURES, WHETHER THROUGH US OR AN OUTSIDE PHOTGRAPHER, WHICH IS SOLELY UP TO THE TALENT. We had a very low monthly fee to access the database, which I believe was $10-20 a month so if a model already had photos and wanted to sign up that is all they would pay... With that said, CAN YOU TELL ME WHERE THIS WAS A RIP OFF??? I left the company shortly after this report was posted because I moved to Las Vegas to accept a great job in the VIP Industry and since then have launched my own events, PR, marketing, and VIP company, Industry PM. I now realize the importance of a positive public image and felt it was necessary to respond to these false accusations and leave you with my side of the story. All in all, my sincere apologies to the individual who wrote this and felt I did something wrong. I cannot speak for Debra, Brian or Qwia Management because I do not know anything about this company since 2005 but when I did work there I was solely doing my job and did not deserve to be placed in the middle of this complaint. Slander is illegal and posting derogatory comments against an individual can tarnish reputations. Mine reputation is of high importance to me. I have an incredibly great reputation in the city of Las Vegas with every Nightclub and every hotel/casino so I hope this helps clear your concerns and I hope as a reader you can disregard this report. Thank you for your time, Mervat Berry
