Ramada Plaza Resorts Refused refund even after death of our son. Charged us to extend after I went in hospital ripoff Fort Lauderdale Florida
This has been a nightmare. What was sold to us as a prestigious nationwide marketing study and promotion turned out to be nothing but a timeshare.
Due to financial problems after our son was diagnosed with cancer we tried to get a refund to no avail. We had to pay $58 to extend the expiration date.
Even after our son passed away (which was a long 2 year battle with colon cancer at age 22) they still would not refund our money, which we had paid for the trip in full by this time.
We scheduled the trip and on the day that we were to arrive in Ft. Lauderdale I was admitted to hospital through emergency for my heart. It turned out to be stress related due to our sons death. The company made us pay another $58 to extend the vacation or lose it.
We had scheduled our Orlando section of the trip last so we went as soon as I was released from the hospital. Needless to say, it was horrible. The motel had a horrible odor! We were in Ramada at 7491 Irlo Bronson Highway in Kissimmee. There was another newer Ramada across the street but they would not let us switch. Also we had to go on the 4 hour timeshare tour.
Now we have seen these reports and read about the terrible cruise experiences and I am frightened to go to Ft. Lauderdale. Especially after knowing first hand how nasty Ramada was in Kissimmee.
I would never pay to stay at Ramada again. Ever!
P. S. What is the $1600.00 voucher for? We paid $698.00 per person for this trip. It can be bought for less on your own. Not counting the two time we had to pay for extensions.
