About 6 months ago we received a mailer with "the deal of a lifetime" for a Bahama Cruise for two with 5 days, 4 nights in Fort Lauderdale, Florida including a car rental with unlimited miles. We decided to call and check it out. Once on the phone, we explained to the sales person we were interested, however couldn't afford it at the present time. The Ramada Representative said that was "no problem" and that if we could afford the $268.00 downpayment for one of the tickets, they would finance the rest. We explained that we didn't have that much to spend on a vacation at the time and could we purchase at this price later. He said "No, it must be purchased within 24-hours" and then he asked about our credit wanting to know if we had any MC, Visa or debit cards. We told him that we had a secured Master Card and that it was almost at it's limit. We further explained that they charged ungodly over-limit charges and late charges ($25.00/month for each) and so we weren't interested in doing this. THE COMPANY EVEN HAS THIS ON THE TAPE THAT THEY REQUESTED US TO MAKE!!!!!! The sales associate put us on hold and said he was going to check with our Credit Card Company (Washington Mutual) regarding the downpayment of $268.00. After about 10 minutes he came back on the line and said that they had ok'd it and we were all set. We didn't understand it at the time, but we were happy and excited at the prospect of being able to go on a cruise together! (We were newly engaged at the time.) Come to find out, not only did they put the downpayment on the card, they charged the WHOLE AMOUNT TO THE CARD OF $698.00, PUTTING US WELL OVER OUT LIMIT. Not only are we angry and upset with Ramada, but with our credit card compamy for allowing such a charge on a secured card!!!! This costs us $50.00 a month just in over-the-limit fees!!!! We work really hard and cannot afford this. Not only is it very depressing, it seems highly unlawful.

We want our $698.00 refunded along with every month of over-the-limit charges credited to our account immediately!!!!

After spending a couple of hours on the phone, the company offered to refund $200.00 and give us an extra year to pay for the other fare.

I HAVE NO DESIRE TO DO BUSINESS WITH THIS DECEPTIVE COMPANY EVER AGAIN!!! I want my money AND bank fees refunded immediately.
