Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I have been using RBS Worldpay credit card terminal for about 5 years.  I had a cellphone store in Rhode Island and I sold it because I moved to another state.  When I signed up with them by a Citizens Bank salesperson I was told the contract was only one year and that my current fees were outrageous, my debit fee was this and my credit fee was that…I was paying this PCI thing every month …and all the jazz …so I decided to cancel my service with that other provider…

I went thru the same thing with them …they wanted to charge me 275 cancellation fee…but I called the original company that signed me up which was called “merchant services” ..It was some internet company. And believe it or not they said just send us back the terminal and we’ll take of it….I was surprised…but …I thought. I’m in better hands now…with my new great big worldwide company only one year contract …and since I was using my own terminal…which I bought myself outright there were no more scams or hidden agendas.

Well when you are in business you don’t really look at credit card terminal fees…at least I didn’t …but to my surprise…that monthly pci charge …after one year…it was being charged to me…so I still had to call and go through the PCI compliant…process…

Anyways about five years later today…when I sold my business and called them about 3 month ago..to cancel my service to my surprise…..wow…my cancellation fee is $500.00 dollars…yes ladies and gents.  I was told that my contract self renews…every year after my initial…year…yet another crooked trick to suck the blood out of small business….I wonder why the “squareup” credit card reader company has gotten so popular with small business…and even some mid-size…business. I know of a small chain of restaurants that decided to go with square up for these same reasons…too many crooked contract companies like this..

To make the story short …after talking to them for about an hour they switched to some other department that they said will help me with this…and the gentlemen I talked to said that he can put me on this “$10 a month plan”…until my contract ended…(well not ended he said I had to call 60…90…30…days in advanced to make sure I canceled..) that way I saved ..on the $500 termination fee..well guess what the reason I am writing this ripoff report is that after that call I am still getting charged about $115 dollars every month…to my small business bank account ( and before that it was about 145 because of PCI compliance…)…and I don’t even have the terminal connected and not making any transaction..

To conclude I hate talking to companies customer service..I don’t even like to make complaints..I am the type of guy if I buy something and I don’t like it …I don’t even return it..I just try and make the best of it…but this abuse motivated me to write this.  I know this has happened and continues to happen to more people that are trying to make this country a better place by creating small business to employ and provide service for their communities.

So if you are in my situation please reply to this rebuttal or create a new one.  Please if you are looking for merchant service don’t go with this company.  RBS Worldpay is not what it seems to be portrayed as.  If you do decide to go with this credit card processor make sure you don’t believe what the sales person is telling you.  They just want a commission for that month and don’t care …and RBS Worldpay knows what is going on and just looks away they are out to scam you.  Look at that contract and save your signed copy for your records so you can take them to court in 2 3 o5 years after you no longer need them.  I have been reading some of these complaints where the customer had one contract and the company altered the contract…and he still had to pay a cancellation fee.

I am sorry for the long complaint report but I felt very frustrated with this because I rather give my money away to feed the hungry, the homeless or the needy then to get ripped off by multi-million dollar company that makes so much money then me by scamming and ripping people off and here I am trying to do the right thing to succeed in my business.

Thanks for reading this.

 Sincerely,

Your Fustrated and concerned customer,
