On 23 March 2008 I registered for a trail account with Rhapsody, a company for legal download of music. The agreement was that I could try the software for free for 14 days. As long as I canceled within those 14 days no charge would be made.

The Problem started when I tried to cancel my account. I could sign on and view all my account information but when I tried to cancel they said that they had no record of my account. They told me that they couldnt see my information until I had signed on for the first time. Yet I was unable to sign on because of a compatibility issue. So they told me that I would be unable to cancel my account until I solved the compatibility issue and used their sortware at least once.

I am currently attempting to work with the managers and supervisors to get my account canceled and have my financial information deleted. How is it possible that I, the user, could access my information on their server when they had no idea about it? Am I suppose to trust them to maintain my credit card number safely when they don't even have proper access to their own records?

I feel like this problem should be addressed to insure that people don't recieve charges because of poor customer service and the company's unwillingness to remove a potential paying customer. Once I send them my information they should have the ability to access and remove that information at any time.
