Red McCombs Superior rip-off! Unethical! Sneaky! Liars! Rude! Poor management! Lying cheats! San Antonio Texas
Went to buy a used vehicle, was told my credit rating was good and there would be no problem with financing. However, the nightmare followed. They kept my driver's license, denied having it, then told me they took it home for "safe keeping". Told me to get insurance on the vehicle, then a couple of days later they said the paperwork was being processed, no problem take the vehicle. Then, more calls from them,telling me they could not finance it, come back for a smaller vehicle, etc. etc.
When I declined to go for a smaller vehicle they said they would try to find financing other places. Still would not return my driver's license. Then, we found the same vehicle, same VIN number advertised, with a price several hundred dollars lower. We questioned it, and were told it was a misprint. I don't believe it.
Talked with other Red McCombs dealers in the area and asked questions, only to find that even the other Red McCombs dealers consider this dealership to be unethical. We will be returning the vehicle and asking for our downpayment back. Will NOT deal with these people. Also, found that many people we know have had problems with the dealership. These people are unethical, creepy and sneakier than all get out. DO NOT BUY from Red McCombs!

Dealt with Red a number of times and it's always the same crap. At that same dealership, looked at a car and was quoted a price of $XXX per month. They wouldn't tell me, for how many months or what my interest rate would be. Asked for a calculator and they had the balls to say"WE DON'T HAVE ANY HERE". Was looking for a truck that nobody had in S.A. The truck was up in Lubbock. Red's quoted me $3,000 MORE than Cecil sold it to me for, in Hondo. Several weeks ago I posted about how they took 21 days to repair my new Explorer in their body shop. Posted a couple of weeks ago about how I was looking for a Dodge Caravan for my wife's son. Went to Red's Dodge, they refused to quote me a price for any of the vehicles. Said he had to be there and they had to run his credit. Pulled out one of their ads, with a price on it. They said they couldn't FIND any of those vehicles. Same old crap.
