Regis Corp. AKA SmartStyle of Forest City NC, lacks in proper management. I have been in about 5 SmartSyle locations and find that the Management in every store is incompitant of being a manager, but the one in Forest City takes the cake. The manager, Crystal P. will threnten to fire you if you don't brown nose her. She recently fired a stylist that had been there for some time for reliegious beliefs and was even incompent enough to put that on the stylist paper. I was then set-up and fired for taking up for the stylist that was fired. The manager set me up saying that I was stealing. To make a long story short, I won my case in court against the charges and the stylist that was fired for religous beliefs has filed a lawsuit against the company. Alot of complaints would come in about the manager being rude, talking about personal stuff (as in her private life and all the dirty goodies that went with it) in front of clients, children and other customers. Needless to say she is still employeed there and the complaints are still coming in. She is friends with the area supervisor and the Regional Supervisor. The Regis Corp needs to look at what is going on in all their salons before their reputation is flushed if its not already too late for them.

did you know that in the southern parts of usa they didn't hire blks and they settled out of court kelowna bc regis salon settled out of court 2 rules 1 for str8's 2 for gay's they payed s off to keep it quite

I am a manager and a very good one to boot. I received my promotion after just 3 months of employment and have been going strong for over 2 years. Before I took the helm @ this store, it did have a bad reputation and suffer from poor management. But it is now #2 in our area and sales are up by over 40%. If we sucked we wouldn't have numbers like this! SmartStyle does have a high turnover rate for stylists, But as I have learned it is mostly because some people can't handle the high pace that is required for our salons. We are very busy most of the time and lazy people just can't cut it!So they blame their managers for their own short comings!Managers have very strict ruls regaurding hiring/firing stylists. We have to get permission from our supervisors to do either. This is also a high stress job especially when we have to deal with whiney people who don't want to work in the first place.So some of the stories in this site just do not add up with policies and procedures outlined in our rule book. I would like to hear the other side of the story before I beleive anything I read here. It simply has no basis!

First, How old are you? Second, How long have you been doing hair?(don't exaggerate) Third, If SmartStyle is hiring incompetent Managers, Why? Why are they building dozens and dozens of stores every Month? The month of November I know of at least more than 20 new stores open. LASTLY, all you want to do is complain. You want to be a manager so you can grow in your own lively hood. Only with your sour puss attitude you will never make it. I am a MANAGER and I know what it takes to make it. I worked with a girl that had you attitude. She later quit because I succeeded after only 3 years and after 5 she had not. 3 months later she went to another Regis owned store with the same attitude and still just a STYLIST. LOSE the 'tude and you will SUCCEED
