I recently went to get my hair done from REGIS hair salon. I had a really bad experience. My friend and her sisters had their hair done their and it looked great, so drove 3 hours just for my hair because I liked it so much. Well my appt was for 2pm I didn't get out of their until a little after 6pm.

I went in to dye my hair and get highlights. I wanted a light brown with blond highlights. Well the stlylist "spanky"(same one that did my friends.)by the time he started to dye my hair it was about 2:30 he kept leaving (he'd go answer the phone, make appts, attending to the customers)he had alot of friends coming in and he kept going to give them hugs and visiting. He'd be like "I'll be right back, honey" then I was processing and he started on the lady next to me, which is fine he was rinsing her and dryed and styled her.

Then left to get something to drink. He came back and another friend was there to visit and i sat there longer. Then he finally rinsed my hair and started to do highlights he toke forever. He was still doing other things in between and then him and his co-worker were talking about another co-worker that had called and told her she was attacked. so he kept talking and talking and i was just like sitting there. it toke a long time for my highlights to be dyed.

My husband had went with me and our baby so he watched him for that whole time. It was at the mall so he walked around with our 7 month old for 4 hours. everytime he came i still wasn't finished.

It's not like "spanky" was tending to me either it was like he was handling other things instead of me. so i sat in the chair just waiting and waiting. then when he was tending to me he was like talking and talking to me so he would stop his work, he would just hold the brush in his hand.

HE IS SO UNPROFESSIONAL-he's gay and i dont care but he was like talking about his sex life and saying how much he like to "f*** men" and hes not interested in marriage right now he just wants to go f***. he loves to f***!!!!!! how rude is that, like i want to know and he just kept talking about his gay life. he was really rude.

He went to lunch and when he came back of course it was time to rinse my highlights that were long time done! well the employee who had called in and told them she was attacked came in. she had just arrived from the police station or something. I was listening since i just sat there. so then they went to their supply room to talk about it. the door was open so i could hear everything. they were like talking about the how she filed the report and the police didn't do anything. i just sat there waiting and waiting.

He finally rinsed my highlights and then said he was going to tone it down a little. well eventually he did but you can't see my highlights that much and my hair color is not what i wanted. its dark at the bottom like this greenish brown/red and the top is red. it's ugly and i don't plan to spend more money so someone can ruin my hair. i paid so much money and im really upset it toke FOREVER,,,and I DROVE 3 HOURS ONLY FOR MY HAIR SPECIFICALLY FOR HIM.

Corina, Your stylist should have never had his friends at the shop, or spoken about his sex life. That is just not professional and he should be writen up by his supervisor for his conduct. But about the phone, selling product, and dealing with clients Regis requires it's employees to handle these dutys and depending what shop or division of Regis you work in they pay you next to nothing (50% or min wage what ever is higher) I am an x employee and I can tell you story's!!!! During the christmas season, doing a perm and having to answer the phone 20 times and deal with clients, retail, mostly it's due to Regis being to cheap to pay someone to answer the phone. Yet they are going to reach the 3 billion mark this year.. (record sales in a slugish economy) They required us to do the inventory in 1 day including counting every perm rod, every bobby pin, roller, light bulb,ect.... and all the retail lines and not turn away any clients. my manager and I were there till 3 in the morning doing the inventory off the clock. over worked is the name of the game at Regis Corp.

Advice from a hairdresser

I am a hairdresser and I just wanted to let you know a few things. I really don't know if this man was reallly rude, he may of appeared that way and he should be more concious of the image he is projecting to the customer. But, on the other hand, we are here to do your hair and not to be your "entertainment" while your hair is processing which can sometimes take a long time with certain types of hair color or lightening processes. Answering the phone also is a requirement of our job and there is not always a receptionist. That isn't good but sometimes thats just the way it is. As for his friends visiting that is okay but it should be limited. He should of told his friends he could talk to them later. I hope that you talked to the manager so that the young man will understand he has to change his language and to see if you could get any compensation because you felt it was an unpleasent visit. By the way, somebody who is good at highlights won't rush and a full head of foils can take up to 3 1/2 hours. I don't know if you had that done but I think that you could have asked how long it may take and come up with a solution that could be more accomadating for your husband and child while they had to wait because you live so far away.
