Patrick Kovacs (Renova Flooring) was hired in July 2015 to completely  rehab a fix and flip that I had purchased in White Settlement, Texas.

The job should have been done two months or three months at the most. I provided him a itemized list of the work to be done. We came to  a price which seemed resonable. I have done a couple of rehab projects before but not in  the state of Texas.

His crews were not professional and did not complete the jobs assigned to them. He would not show up at the job site, citing other jobs he was working on. He did not provide a  foreman but relied on crews who had little or no supervision. The work was of poor quality.  His crews started not showing to complete the projects.  Patrick would not answer my calls or texts for days. When he returned my calls he would promise to start work right away. Which of course his crews would not show up.

I have kept his texts as records of his poor response time and excuses. I met to discuss the completion of the house and once again he promised to complete the project. After several months of broken promises and lack of response, I made other decisions to get the project sold.

I was finally able to contact him and told him I had holding costs which I held him directly responsible. I gave  him a figure of $3,500.00 which he stated in a text was fair.

Then the excuses started. Patrick wanted to complete the floor as credit towards the $3,500.00 he owed me. I declined based on his previous track record of broken promises. I made him an offer of $2,000.00 to settle this issue and move on. He said I was being unfair and mentioned he had tried to work with me. He stated his attorney would draft a promissiory note for the agreed amount. Needless to say, I am still waiting.

He plays the victim role very well, and does not take responsibility for his actions. I doubt I will ever see the money he owes me but I am hopeful others will read this rip-off report.
