Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
. He has his certain click of co-workers who in not so many words can get by with murder. He basically picks people he doesn't like and wil do anything possible to find a reason to fire that person. I have also noticed working in his region that there are female co-workers who are treated very harshly. He doesn't like female co-workers or any one else that does not kiss his a*s on a daily basis. We get hate e-mails daily threatening our jobs, degrading our abiltilies to run the stores. He does not believe in some one having one bad month. Of you don't grow your store every month he wants you fired, even if it is due to you store being short staffed. He will let large stores run on very few people and say it's an obsticle we need to overcome think outside the box and find a way to grow, close credit, and keep your store looking great at all times. Well he needs to step down to our level and reolize 3 people cannot run a store, come off his pedistal and offera helping hand instead of threatening our jobs when we have a bad week or month.

Day in and day out our jobs and our lively hoods are threatened, if you don't hit this number or that number then we must re-evaulate the management structure in this certain store. Now unless you work in Morgantown WV your just not cut out for this job. You see he is very partial to the stores in that area. They can do badly everyday and he doesn't say anything but try harder. He is unfair and unjust. Rent a Center is a great company to work for however his methods are just.... stupid. I would like to know where he read the book that said treating co-workers like crap creates more productivity. When in fact all he does is put people down and from experience I just don't see results from unhappy employees.

Calling our home office does no good. They say that they want employees to have a nice work environment, but they only care about the dollar signs. Put you off to the back burner. If they don't care about their employees, think about how they feel about their customers...hum, probly not very good.

If you read this and are an employee in R0061 please respond and let me know your experiences with Kevin Ruckle. Good or bad i would like to know.

Very unhappy off employee

First of all you need to learn to read. I never blamed Kevin for anything, I said that he mistreats people. He has never had anything constructive to say, only degrading. Second of all unless you are Kevin, you still need to stop brown nosing, you don't work for the company anymore. And if you did have over a 1000 bor store and gained that much a week, i'd like to shake your hand. But to prove a point, I know that there are alot of people that have read this and will read this and im asking them to please leave a rebutal and let Mr. brown nose know what Mr. Ruckle is really about. You don't have to have your personal info listed. I Just want everyone to tell us about their personal experiences. Oh and by the way i agree that you have to have the right people, guess you weren't cut out for the job anymore.

I don't know how your store ran, but gathering a 20 bor gain a week couldn't be very much. My store averaged 1000-1050 bor with a 40-53 gain a week. It wasn't just myself, but my staff as well. Everybody was on the same page and knew their positions well. They also helped each other to complete tasks. Each Account Manager had a task as well as collections and deliveries in order to keep the store running smoothly. 1 handled service, another aided with sales files and filing, and the last with collection letters. If you never noticed in this business, there are 2 parts: sales and collections. If others are aiding and know what it feels like to do another persons job it not only helps when someone is sick or on vacation but it gives mutual respect. As for payments and sales, all were responsible for knowing how to aid a customer, read an idle, prepare a conract and book a delivery. As for Kevin Ruckle, the respect was mutual because he was a Store Manager the same as the rest of us. He looks for innovation, drive, self reliance in all members of the store, not just the store manager. Sorry you couldn't do your job better. I enjoyed my time with the Company and working under Kevin. I could be like you and wine about how things were other peoples fault but I don't have to. I chose to leave for a higher paying job that was closer to home and family. I also would have no problem working with the Company again. I don't have to sing the praises of Kevin. He's no longer my boss. He's simply a man who knows his position in the company and does treat employees with respect. I don't have to look for blame in him and in others. Grow up.

Well it looks to me that you, just like Kevin Ruckle is nothing more than a brown noser. First of all I do have respect for him, it's the treatment of the co-workers that I am speaking of. If you are really from Clarksburg, you didn't work for him very long, he has been my boss for a very long time back to the days when he was a District manager. Oh and by the way, I have a very sucessful store, hit all the numbers that they could ever want, but King Ruckle says that its not good enough! I gain 20 agreements in one week and close credit below standards. Not even a good job? The mistreatment of co-workers is what he does best. Even if you have a good or bad week you still suck unless you have a very brown nose.

Utmost Respect for Kevin Ruckle

As a previous employee, I have the utmost respect for Kevin Ruckle. For those of you who don't know, Kevin worked his way up through the company. During my time in the Stores as an Account Manager, I/O Manager and Store Manager, Kevin always treated my Store and the Stores in my District with Dignity and a strive to makes all the Stores work more productively. In several cases he tried to help Stores which did not even attempt to come close to the goals of the company. He started out just like we did and understands the workings of his Region. It is a shame that poor employees and managers have nothing better to do than to throw blame on someone else for their own mistakes. Mistakes which were given countless times to correct. People today don't want to take the fall for their miscomings. Instead they look to blame someone else. It's just an absolute shame that someone has to slander someone else's character publicly to make themselves feel better. Take the blame for your miscomings and move on!

I currently work in Mr. Ruckles region and happen to be very happy in my position. I have met Kevin and he was more then nice to me. I had never met the man and before I could even introduce myself he already knew my name and a little about me. I think it was very proffesional for him to have taken the time to find out who I was before even meeting me. As far as those emails I myself have never seen an email like you are describing. The only ones I have see are positive emails something to the effect of. we had a bad day but we can overcome those and emails with ideas and ways to make the store grow. I think in todays world people have soft skin so to speak and take constructive criticism the wrong way as a personal attack. I personally enjoy working for Rent A Center and Mr. Ruckle and look foward to working there along time in that region and right beside all the other hard working Rent A Center employees from the account managers right on up the chain!

If you are still with Rent A Center and you can cut and paste some of those K Ruckle threatening emails, let's do it. I would like others to see what we have to deal with on a daily basis. Hang in there.

I'm in NC as an I/O-Assistant Mgr. Our area has a pretty good working enviroment, however I will admit there are times that then enviroment can be hectic because the credit numbers are a little high, or the amount of agreements go a little low. This company does need that special person with patients & someone that is willing to march on during good times & bad. There are times I've been so pissed that I just wanted to throw in the towel & quit, but I also have looked at other jobs I have held, & every job has their problems. I'm near the top of the list for getting my own store soon. So unless some other golden opportunity comes up with some really awsume pay (more then what I am making right now), I'm going to stick with it & do my best.

Let me tell u its not just in your area it is a company wide situation u are speaking about.I worked in region 50 for 4years.I was a store manager for 2 years.I opened a store for them and had 550 bor in 10 months then i went to a store with 600 bor and grew it to 860 bor.I was on the advisory counsil, was training for mm postion, went to oregon twice for training i was a million dollar store grew my profit for 24 percent to 27.5 percent in a year. i got hurt on the job and one month later they fired me. the market manager was partying and getting stoned with all the male employees and i wouldnt do it so they all lied to h.r. about was going on because as u said u can never make these people happy. No matter how hard u try or what u do it is never enough. If its not your credit its your sales if its not your sales its something else.I worked 12 hrs a day 6 days a week and look what i got in return. The new store i opened is at 388 bor and the other is at360 so screw that company.Your best bet is get out why the getting is good.Do not waste your time your giveing 100 percent and getting 10 which is only a pay check.i would really like to hear more about that area because i want to see if their are more people and other things that this has happened to.
