I have been a client of rentacenter since December 2005. Despite an agreement with rentacenter to automatically charge my bank account/debit card, they do opposite and each month have contacted me one day after due date at an approximately 10 - 15 phone calls in that day.

I have always made my payments to rentacenter! Most recently, and the cause of this report, I again had a conversation just last month to not call me and just charge my bank account/debit card -- ALFREDO agreed and added note to my account. Unfortunately, I had to leave the state due to an emergency with my mother-in-law in Connecticut.

Alredo DID NOT automatically debit my bank account but rather has called my office, my home and family members stating I am late and have not made my payments. Further, he has sent his "thugheads" from their store to our home, in the large RAC truck at very early morning -- banging on the door -- and than again in the evening.

My children were horrified. I finally made contact with Alfredo and he was oblivious to our agreement and felt his harassment was justified -- although I ALWAYS make my payments. He then proceeded to tell me that I have 13 more months of payments due to him BUT owe them only a total of $706. I asked him to provide me with the breakdown of "his" numbers as simple mathematics -- combined with the contract -- come up with a totally different scenario.

This store is unprofessional, ignorant to business relationships and just shy of a "loan shark" persona. Do not rent from them no matter what your situation -- buy a roll of quarters and play it safe!!
