RGS Financial reported a fraudulent account to my credit report which is not mine, then after I disputed it with Experian claimed to have verified the debt! This account was previously on my credit report by a different collection agency and I wrote them explaining that I have never had an account with Cox Communications and requested they investigate this and have it removed from my file. After they investigated it they found no proof of the account belonging to me, contacted the credit bureaus and had it removed from my credit file. Now a year later it is reappearing on my credit report by RGS Financial, and they do not even provide a payment history! Then they had to nerve to tell Experian that the debt was valid!! When someone is the victim of identity theft or fraud it is a nightmare trying to get false information removed from a credit file, then to have this company who clearly purchased bad or fraudulent debt from other agencies is really sickening. I am in the process of filing a law suit against this company and Experian for for violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act and Defamation.

Although I contacted Experian about this prior to writing the report and the debt was somehow verified by RGS, I did not contact RGS as I assumed they would not be helpful due to the reputation of collection agencies. Whether they would have been helpful if I called is not something I can attest to, but after filing this report Chris was very helpful in getting everything resolved. Overall I am pleased with the outcome and I look forward to it being removed from my credit report within a few days.
