RHODE ISLAND KITCHEN AND BATH signed contract to help sponsor school project but refused to pay deposit Ripoff WEST WARWICK Rhode Island
Agreed to purchase a panel on a football scoreboard with a signed contract,with an agreed on deposit required and extended terms way beyond our normal boundaries. one of only three advertising positions on the scoreboard that offered industry exclusivity.Initially they said the check was written, but was torn up, without any reason. They occupied the position on the scoreboard, blocking all similar companies interested in helping the school get this equipment for more than 3 months, still refusing to send deposit. I personally made many calls,emails, and faxes and they refused to discuss it with me. My corporate office made several calls and got the same cold shoulder, The principal and athletic director from the school attempted with the same results. We offered to void the contract, and still non responsive, they didnt have the coutesy to even back out, while still tying up the value space, and preventing the school from getting another advertiser for that exclusive position. Now the kids must suffer because this company wouldnt give the coutesy to pay the seposit or back out, and the project more than likely will suffer delays. I could have sold that position several times, and had other similar, reputable companies I had to turn away, because they were exclusive to that Industry. This wasn't a nice way to do business, and the school and the children will suffer the most.
I have now completely removed them, regardless of the contract, and will seek to put a competative company on the scoreboard.
If the deposit were to be paid as contracted Now, it would be honored, and I can do business as usual, however they are totally non responsive and have a do not care attitude. Makes me skeptical about the extended balance being paid on time as well, however we would accept a post dated check for than, but if it were stopped payment or bounced would instantly remove that panel from the scoreboard, and get a new advertiser for its place. Very shakey doing business like this.
