Richard Brent Creations Rick Johnson STOLE $15,000 FROM US Huntington Beach California
Rick Johnson is a scam artist. He is actively advertising on craigslist.org with multiple ads. This is an example of one of his ads http://orangecounty.craigslist.org/rts/5463651996.html. We replied to one his ads last March. He came to our home and spent hours going over our kitchen with great detail and giving us great ideas on our cabinet refacing project. My husband and I decided to proceed with Rick and met with him a few weeks later to give him a deposit of $3000 and he said he needed an additional $12k for building supplies and materials. He cashed both checks immediately after leaving our home.
The goal was for him to start June 1. In the meantime, we purchased over $15k in appliances to get ready for our renovation. June came and went and Rick gave excuse after excuse to why he could not start - even blamed us for not giving him appliance spec sheets. We had emailed him these measurements with the appliance portfolio we received from our sales guy. He pushed us off all summer and I really started to worry. I was planning a big party at our house for my husband's birthday in November. My last response from Rick was that the kitchen would probably not be finished in time for the party but he would have it in working condition. He had the AUDACITY to request me as a connection on LinkedIn in September for his HErbalife business!!!!
I have reached out to him again and again and no response. Will not respond to text, phone, or email. I have spoken to other people who have been ripped off by him. BEWARE of this contractor. Also, it should be noted by anyone considering this guy...he is working with an expired contractor's license and no bond. He is a crook in every sense of the word!
