Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I saw an ad on Craigslist saying that an agency was looking for new talent. They offered paid jobs like extra's in movies, promotional work, modeling etc. I have previously worked on promotional jobs with other companies and had no problems.

Well the owner of Rival Talent Agency, Brady Kotter, called me and talked to me for about two hours the first time. He was explaining the different kinds of jobs and what they involved. They all sounded like awesome opportunities. He said he didn't like talking about money but there was a start up fee. $35 for promotional events and $50 for extra work, the two things I wanted to do. I have been warned of start up fees with talent agencies, but let me tell you something. Brady Kotter is a FANTASTIC liar. It makes me sick to think of how sneaky and deceiving and believable he is.  Something with Brady is off and he seems ridiculously smart, but not socially smart. I told him I only had $35 so I was wondering if I could just start with the promotional work first (I wouldn't have felt as bad if it was a scam, dropping only $35 also). He said that he would cover and $55 and I could start on both and pay him back. I thought that was nice of him.

So we arranged for a time to meet at his office. I got there on a Sunday afternoon and he wasn't there. After waiting and calling him countless times, I left. A little while later he called saying sorry over and over and that he forgot and that he would be there in 30 minutes and for me to come back. I went back and we met.

The office is sketchy. The elevators only allow you to use them with a code and Rival Talent is located in a tiny one room office. He asked me to give him the $35 and I pulled out a check book. Well, Rival talent doesn't take checks. First warning sign. They only take cash. So being new to this I gave him the cash. He proceeded to take a few quick pictures of me for my Utah extras profile because I didn't have professional modeling pictures. This made me believe the whole, "we are going to get you set up on utahextras.com" thing.

The next day I was supposed to start extra work. He called me late that night and said he talked to his co worker or boss or someone, I can't remember, and they said I had to pay the $50 before I started extra work. He wanted me to bring it in right away. I said I couldn't because it was in the form of a check from my last job and the bank was closed so I couldn't cash it. He proceeded to keep telling me that I  had to bring it in now, I repeated myself countless times. He doesn't listen. He just talks and talks and talks. He never listens. After repeating myself again and again he agreed to meet up the next morning at 9 so I would have time to go to the bank and so I could get started on extra work that day.

I rushed to the bank, and on my way back to the office he called me. He said "where are you? I've got to get this into them by 9:30 or you can't work today." So he had me meet him at a gas station. I gave him the money and we had agreed to meet back at his office so he could finish taking pictures of me for the Utah extras site. I went back to the office and waited and waited. He kept calling me telling me "10 more minutes." Then "10 more." Then "almost there." They finally, "you can just go home, I am going to be too busy to do that today. I'll call you when the extra work is ready later today." Every single day the extra work "wasn't happening" or the weather was bad, or something went wrong. I waited around for a week and a half for work. He promised work countless times and never once have I gotten work. He also said his co worker Kristen was going to call me to set up training, and the first time she was "calling the wrong number." He was calling to yell at ME for not answering. The second time it was "her car died." I have never once heard from Kristen.

I was promised extra work today, Wednesday, and when I didn't get work, that was my breaking point. I told him I didn't want to be involved in this anymore and that I wanted my money back. He said, "wait what why?" as if it was a shock as to why I didn't want to work for him. He said, "call you back I have another call." I didn't hear from him, as usual, so I called him over and over. No answer. I left a very angry voice mail saying I was going to take serious legal action on this, and try to make it so other people wouldn't get scammed as I had been. I spoke with the police today and found out exactly why I have to do to take action. Since Brady Kotter won't make this easy for both of us and give me my money, I am determined to do what I have to stop Brady Kotter and Rival Talent from scamming person after person. I'm sure he has never had someone be so outraged and ready to do something about it, but I refuse to let him continue this scam. Please let me know if you have also been scammed by Rival Talent.

Also: Brady Kotter is a sex offender. Kind of scary that I was in a back office alone with him. Don't get into this, it's not worth it.

You guys are too hard on Brady Lee Kotter. He sounds like such a nice honest boy. You guys make him sound like a narcissistic little punk that can't afford to pay his obligations.

People use common sense. A small one room office suit in that part of town runs $200-$300 a month. I'd think a talent agency would be concerned about appearances, and if they had any money whatsoever they would be in a very nice office. That was your warning sign number 1. Q: Who meets someone at a gas station for $50.00? I'd guess that it is someone in need of the money. Warning sign number 2. I can go on and on about the warning signs you had.

Stealing from people is wrong. So I am going to share what I would do if this happened to me.

1) Get your money. In Utah and Nevada talent agencies are required to carry a surety bond. These are in place to guarantee payment to workers contractors and talent. If you were not paid go to the department of commerce in the state of Utah and to the corporation commission in the state of Nevada. Ask the state agencies where you can obtain Rival Talents bonding information. Then submit your claims for missing wages to the bonding company. With a little tenacity you should get paid. If there is no bond ask the state to revoke Rival Talent & Bradly Lee Kotters privilege do business in that respective state.

2) Stop the crime. I would also complain to the attorney general's office and share your experience with them. It is a privilege to do business in the state of utah and nevada. That privilege can be revoked. I would work the angle that Brady Lee Kotter is on the sex offender registry and allowing him to conduct this type of business is putting the public in danger.

Next I would go to the landlord next and send him a copy of Utah Code 76-10-1207. I would send this by certified mail and send a copy of it to the regulatory body's.I would then notify the city where is the company is located that (Nude photos/ Pornography) is being filmed. I would start off with business licensing and work my way down to the health department and planning and zoning. there are regulations that these types of activities cannot happen within so many feet of a school or church. I think that in the spirit of the law 5.61.040, A.includes venues that engage in adult talent finding and take nude photography for profit. I bet it would not be very hard to get the mayors office or planning and zoning to agree. Letters to the editor can be persuasive.

In my opinion if I took your money and did not give the promised goods or services then I would stealing from you. It might be a good idea to reach out to local law enforcement and file a police report for theft fraud or whatever else the officer thinks is fitting. In my opinion what happened to you is a crime.

Ripoff report is a great form. However with somebody like this we need to push him out of business. complain to the government and regulatory bodies. Keep complaining and never take no for an answer.

I am not an attorney and this is not legal advise. This is just a statement to what I would do if I was taken advantage of by Bradly Lee Kotter.

I think this is the same guy....

Everything said here is very true. Brady Kotter did the exact same thing to me, i gave him $50 bucks and he never called back to give them to me and never found me a job. Always said he would made me drive there for no apparent reason at all. wish law can take over him.
