Maria Bazzi was NOT directly involved in the above repossession matter, however the above statement was made to obviously attempt to preserve the "good image" of RWCU.
This matter was handled by one of Riverworks employee (Gary Moynihan) who had SEVERE anger management issues and very little customer service skills. This employee seemed to get pleasure out of making the lives of members a LIVING HELL.
Gary Moynihan's employment was terminated shortly thereafter for yet another dispute with one of RWCU's members.
The folowing happened:
1) The Member obtained an auto loan and defaulted due to problem with his employer.
2) The Member's automobile was repossessed
3) No notice of deficiency was sent until about 6 months after.
4) During this time, the creditor (RWCU) attempted to sell this vehicle via auction many times, however the maximum bid they were able to get was $2,500, however they did NOT sell the vehicle because they thought they would get MORE.
5) Months later, they credited his auto loan in the amount of $2,500 and sent a notice of dificiency.
6) The creditor then filed suit against the member for the dificiency and made a BLATANTLY made a FALSE statement in the written civil complaint by stating that they "SOLD" the vehicle for $2,500.
7) The borrower has NO intention of EVER making any payments towards the deficiency because of deceptive tactics used by RWCU REGARDLESS of what any court may order.

River Works Credit Union first would like to acknowledge the emotional pain that financial difficulties can cause, especially during the strain of trying to stay up stream through the rapids of the most difficult economy in History.
It is important to know, up front, that this member’s financial situation was made whole and that we acknowledge that there were certain steps of the process (that RWCU did not have control of) that caused his vehicle to get lost.
Privacy Acts limit RWCU in being able to respond, in equal detail, as to all of the events and facts of Vernon’s full financial course of difficulty, and it is our focus to not cause any harm to his reputation.
With that said, we can only assure you that we have a full and complete copy of all of the records, facts, proof that the situation was made whole and have put EXTRA safe guards in place, ensuring that RWCU is included in every step of the process, taking responsibility for each piece, not just our direct interaction, and we’ve made every improvement possible to ensure that this never happens again to any of our members.
As a Credit Union and a financial institution, we must act on behalf of all our members, protecting the bottom line and everyone’s investments. Where it is not always pleasant to take certain actions, it is something that we have to do for the greater good of RWCU.
We wish the best of luck to this member and sincerely hope that the financial tide has turned in his favor.
