We signed our daughters up with the JRP in Marin during an open audition. It was very strong armed, but we did sign and pay $3800 because the lady who signed us up said she had contacts in San Francisco with Gap, Mervyns, etc and she would pass the picture of our twins around and she knew they would get work. We were sceptical, but bit. Needless to say, she never returned calls after our check cleared. The first 10 weeks we had classes and auditions each week but we always felt the girls weren't learning what they claimed they would teach but our kids were only 4 so.....

In Feb we were to start a new session when all of a sudden there were new owners and no one knew what was going on. We ended up moving to a recording studio in Marin after weeks of waiting. We had one audition which was actually a chance for Stave Thompson to evaluated the kids. The guy at the desk in Marin kept calling him the new owner so when I had questioned I called him. He claimed he was only doing us a favor by keeping the classes going and he was working hard for us. According to our contract we were to get 2-3 auditions per month (which we weren't) so between that and how unhappy I was with everything else I asked for half my money back. He got mad at me and basically said I was ungrateful for everything he is doing for us. I threaten to sue and he gave me a lawyers number for the original owner, but I am going in circles.

I have conplained to everyone I can find, but it's not helping. I don't know what to do next.

Stanley Robinson is who you sue

#2UPDATE EX-employee responds

That is too bad you feel ripped off, but Steve Thompson did not see a dime of your $3800. Stanley Robinson of Robinson/Poza took every penny and left town, and Steve is trying to bring the business back. It is his out of pocket expense that is renting studio space for the coaching. Your only way to get your money back is to sue Robinson/Pozo, who have run this scam is several cities.
