Yesterday I saw an advertisement in the Houston Chronicle displaying a Jeep Liberty 2009 STK #F90160 for the sale price of $14,887 which I thought was a reasonable price. However I didn't know what color the car was or whether it was still in stock. Knowing that the car dealership was roughly 60 miles away I decided to call them at 2:15p.m to see whether or not the car was in stock.

A salesman named Carl answered and I asked him if the car was still in stock. I gave him the stock number #F90160 and he told me it was CURRENTLY on the car lot and told me it was a blue color. I told him that I live around 60 miles away so it'll take me some time to get over there. He said that would be fine and he'll be there until 8:30p.m. I left my house at around 2:45p.m and drove for a little over 1 hour and got there around 4:00p.m.

Once I got there I asked for a salesman named Carl and I eventually found him. He now introduced himself as Carlton. I immediately asked about the car we discussed early and I even brought along the advertisement just in case he needed the stock number. After talking for a couple minutes he tries to find the keys and tells me that the car was sold 1 week ago.

I told him I talked with him JUST 2 hours ago and reminded him that he said the car was in stock so I asked him how it could be sold 1 week ago. He then starts throwing excuses around on how they have a lot of customers buying cars and how he SIMPLY made a mistake earlier when he CLEARLY checked multiple times and told me it was on the lot when we were on the phone.

Carlton then tries to sell me a different car that I clearly didn't want so I left. Don't buy from Ron Carter Alvin, all they do is try to get you onto their dealership, then it's a totally different story.

If they didn't have the car they should of flat out told me instead of wasting my time and gas driving 60 miles. Very disappointing! They clearly use the Bait and Switch Technique!
