Bullach advertised a Papillon puppy on next day pets and on puppy find. com. Showed acceptable dam to daughter. Hid sire. Lied and said puppies would look like Papillons. Probably lied and said both sire and dam were 8 lbs weight. Puppy is now 4 months and taller than standard for Papillon. Puppy is 9 lbs at only 4 months. Ears are not right, too thin and not spade like. Breeder said later he failed to mention sire's ears were not standing out like Papillon's ears are supposed to. Tail does not curve onto body as it is supposed to. Muzzle is too long and doesn't meet AKC description of puppy breed's face. Coat appears to be much too short and not fluffy although it might come in better as puppy ages. Puppy is much leggier than standard and exceeds AKC height for breed. Pictures of sire were never produced after repeated requests. Breeder refused to accept puppy back and said sales are final.

What appears to be phony praises appeared on puppy for sale sites after I described poor quality of puppy (nextdaypets and puppyfind). I feel I was over charged (400.00) and scammed. I sent a check for the deposit by mail and paid cash for the rest. I should have gone myself to check out the puppy instead of sending 24 year old daughter but breeder was 8 hours away from me. I feel ripped off. Puppy is the most mongrel looking black and white puppy one can imagine. Breeder's defense is that sire and dam are registered with Continental Kennel Club and thus puppy is pure even though she does not meet 1 of the standards of the Papillon.

Small Claims update July 30 2007

We are disappointed to receive the small claims judgement that said Ron and Beth Bulach sold a pure bred Papillon to us because he has CKC papers on the sire and the dam. The breed characteristics such as the size, coat, ears didn't matter to the judge. All that mattered was that Bulach had CKC papers. We went to a judge that evidently didn't understand the basics of breeding. Learn from us people, never ever buy a CKC registered dog if you want to be sure of your puppy's characteristics. By the way, our puppy was rejected by AKC as a Papillon.

Small Claims Court We went to small claims court as the other update will show. Ron Bulach was particularly upset that we named his daughter Katie in this report and not his wife Beth. Beth co signed the deposit check for the puppy. We only dealt personally with Ron Bulach. Katie appears as a seller of puppies on the puppy internet sales sites from time to time which contributed to my confusion. I certainly apologize for using Katie's name when it should have been Beth, her mom. Will update the court's decision when we find out. The magistrate said she wanted to research if a 'pet' quality dog with Continental Kennel Club Papers could be a particular breed even if it had none of the breed standards, except for a black nose.
