Royal Camera Ripoff Lies Thru Their Teeth Fraudulent upselling practices Brooklyn New York
I purchases the Canon EOS 20D with a separate lens. When I called up to confirm the order, the sales person asked why I had purchased that specific lens. After I answered the question, I was told that I could get a better lens for about $60 more. He did not specify the maker, just the specifications and the price. I was told that I would receive a copy of my order via email, which I never did. 2 days later, I saw a withdrawl from my account for $2000. I called to get the order emailed and when I rec'd it, I went online to find out about the "Sigma" lens they sold me instead of the Canon I originally ordered.
The lens they charged me $659 for was selling elsewhere for $269.00. When I called to complain, they told me that Sigma has two versions of the lens and I got the "Professional Series" version. Still not convinced, I contacted the manufacturer which confirmed my suspicions, there were not two models and retail was around $300. Contacted them again to tell them about the LIE they were telling and they said the manufacturer did not know what they were talking about. But to keep me happy, they said they would give me a $300 flash. The game continues to get all my money back. And one last thing... $147 shipping charge... ludicrous!!!! These people SUCK on more levels than language will explain. Stay away.
